Today is our Independence Day Celebration! Please be mindful of parking, pedestrian traffic, and road closures throughout your travels today.

Below is a map showing all the areas that will be affected by no parking and areas that will be blocked by barricades, police, and event staff. Handicap parking will be available on Lafayette Street.
The former Harford Memorial Hospital parking garage on Union Avenue will not be available for parking, but the hospital is allowing the public to use their parking lot behind the hospital on Washington Street on July 5th for Independence Day.

You should expect heavy traffic, so we recommend you leave early, and try to carpool with family and friends. You could also park in an area further away and walk. Do NOT park in areas that are posted no parking or your vehicle WILL be towed.

The City of Havre de Grace will have the Tide Trolleys in operation from 9 am-11:30 am with a pause in service from 1 pm-4 pm during the parade. The Tide Trolleys will begin operating when the parade ends and continue until 9 pm tonight.

Looking forward to the celebration tomorrow! Stay Safe! 🎆

(Havre de Grace, MD) On Tuesday, July 1st, 2025, Havre de Grace Police Officers responded to a report of an armed carjacking in the 700 block of Erie Street. The victim reported that a male subject pointed a handgun at him and stole his vehicle, driving towards Water Street. While canvassing the area, the suspect vehicle was located; however, the individual immediately fled the area. With the assistance of our allied partners, a pursuit ensued. The vehicle pursuit continued onto Interstate 95 southbound and ended when the suspect lost control of the stolen vehicle and subsequently was involved in a single-vehicle crash.

The suspect was identified as a juvenile male, 15 years of age, and was arrested on multiple charges. A handgun was recovered from the suspect upon his arrest. Based on the suspect's age at the time of arrest, a referral through the Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) was conducted, and they elected to release the juvenile to the custody of his legal guardian pending further disposition within the court system.
