• CARDIAC ARREST SAVE •
Susquehanna Hose Company - Division 5 received a special visit yesterday. Allison went into cardiac arrest on May 30th, while at an event at the Bulle Rock Residents Club. With the quick work from the , Harford County Department of Emergency Services & UM Upper Chesapeake Health, Allison is still here to tell her story.
Captain 55, Chad Myers, was first on scene and performed CPR, after two nurses at location had already began life saving measures. SHCo Fireman Brian Minutoli then arrived shortly after, and assisted with the living saving efforts, before Ambulance 55 (housed at SHCo Division 5), Quint 5, Rescue Engine 5 & Medic 53 (housed at SHCo Division 3) got on scene. The quick actions of all those involved led to Allison regaining a pulse and effective breathing, prior to being transported to UM Upper Chesapeake, where she finished her recovery.
With quick hands on chest, this incident is a perfect example of how the system should work, and we are all very thankful that Allison is still with us. Job well done by all involved.
Ambulance 55 was placed in service, by Harford County DES, at SHCo Division 5 in December of 2023, and to date, has four cardiac arrest saves in the Bulle Rock development alone.
