It is with great sadness to share the news of the unexpected passing of Life Member, Neil Crouch, 60, on 16 August 2026, in Dade City, FL.

Neil was a friend to many in the Corps, and also at the hospital where he enjoyed close and lasting friendships with the staff at Harford Memorial. He was known to show up in his patrol car to lend a hand to the crew to assist in patient care on many occasions. He didn't just do his job; he looked out for everyone around him with a kind and open heart.

Neil was an integral part of the success in the Corps from 2002-2015, having served as Captain in 2005, EMS Lieutenant in 2012, and as Assistant Chief from 2013-2015. He retired from the Havre de Grace Police Department in May 2014, with the rank of Corporal after 26 years of service, with previous employment at HPD as a dispatcher.

Rest in peace, Neil. Your profound impact and decades of service to the HdeG Ambulance Corps, the HdeG Police Department, as well as your dedication to the community will never be forgotten.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Neil D. Crouch, a valued member of the Dade City Police Department.

Neil was serving the Dade City community as a Public Safety Information Operator on August 16, 2026, when he suffered a medical emergency while on duty in our Dispatch Center.

Neil was more than a dedicated public servant. He was a colleague, a friend, and a source of kindness and commitment to all who knew him. His life was dedicated to serving others and making a difference in his community.

Neil’s commitment to public service spanned decades and many areas of emergency and community service, from police officer, to 911 dispatcher, to teacher. Throughout his life, he answered the call to serve others. His service, dedication, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We ask our community to join us in honoring Neil’s memory and to keep his loved ones, friends, and our Dade City Police Department family in your prayers during this difficult time.

Details regarding memorial arrangements will be shared as they become available.

Rest easy, Neil. Your service mattered. Your friendship mattered. And your legacy will not be forgotten. 💙

It is with deep sorrow to share the news of the passing of member, John P. Correri, Jr., on 22 July 2026. John was a valued member and a great friend to all of us in the Corps for the past 19 years, with prior service back in the 70's, as well as service in the Susquehanna Hose Company. He also served as the Mayor of the City of Havre de Grace from 2005-2007, as well as a City Council Member in 1978 and again in 2011.

John served as our Trustee to the Association for over 11 years, Chair of the Grants Committee for 5 years, and was also active in the By-Laws committee. Most importantly, he was a friend who was kind, gentle, and cared deeply for every member of the Corps. John was very proud to be honored in 2022 as a Harford Living Treasure, from the Harford County Council, and upon receiving the award, he said "I've received a few honors over the years, but this one, ladies and gentlemen, is in my heart." John had the biggest heart of anyone we know. Rest in peace dear friend.

Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association
Press Release
24 June 2026
FROM: Thomas G. Schaech, President

It is with deep regret that the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association announce the passing of Kenneth R. Streb, age 62, on Tuesday, 23 June 2026, while attending the annual Maryland State Firefighter’s Association Convention in Ocean City, Maryland.

While Ken was no longer actively riding on incidents, he constantly supported his wife Susan, an active member of the Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps, and was currently assisting her in duties associated with her assignment as a Delegate to the annual Convention.

He served 19 years as a member of the Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps, a former member of the Susquehanna Hose Company and past member of the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association Honor Guard, a position he shared alongside his wife.
Arrangements are forthcoming.

Please keep the Streb family, the members of the Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps, and our emergency services family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

It is with great sadness to share the news of the passing of our friend and dedicated member of our 5-9 family, Vickie Hyde.

Vickie always looked after others, making sure they were OK and putting those she loved above her own personal care. She never met a stranger, as anyone she came in contact with immediately knew that they were now a welcomed friend. She loved EMS and ensured every patient she encountered knew that they would be taken care of, always with dignity and respect, and usually holding their hand on the way to the hospital. Her kindness was her strength expecting nothing in return.

Our deepest sympathies are extended to her family and to her friends.

Rest in peace, Vickie.
