October 10 every year is Shift 10 Day…. What is it?
Well, it wasn’t all that long ago that the local business was the foundation of our shopping experience. Mom and Pop shops, local craftsmen and farmers – these were all part of local flavor and multiple stops were made during the shopping day at various stores. We knew our neighbors and did business with them, but over the past few decades, the big box store became King and commanded the greatest percentage of our monthly expenditures.
Shift 10 Day encourages you to revisit these bygone days and return to supporting local businesses by making them 10% of your spending – just 10% and it can have a huge impact where you live. Shift 10% of your spending into your local economy with our friends and your neighbors. And bring your dollar back to your community.
