Central Volunteer Fire Department is a volunteer fire and rescue organization in Lackawaxen Township, PA. Made up entirely of volunteers, CVFD works to protect and serve the people of Lackawaxen Township with emergency response services. In addition to responding to brush, chimney, and structure fires, and car accidents, the volunteers at CVFD also assist EMS, respond to natural disasters, and the

fire station serves as an emergency shelter for the community in times of need. New volunteers are always needed and welcome. If interested, please call 570-685-7344, send a Facebook message, stop by the station on a Thursday night at 7pm, or visit our website for further information.

🚒 Touch-A-Truck Event – June 6th! 🚜

Don’t forget — our Touch-A-Truck event is coming up on June 6th!

We’ll have:

Lots of trucks and heavy equipment.
Food and refreshments.
Live demonstrations.
Fire trucks from several local fire departments.
Other large and exciting vehicles the kids will love.
A race car on display.
A HUGE firehouse bounce house.

And rumor has it… 🔥
Marshall the Firehouse Dog and Smokey Bear may be making special appearances too!

Bring the whole family for a fun-filled day of exploring, climbing, learning, and making memories. Kids of all ages are welcome!

Today several of our volunteers, alongside Forest Volunteer Fire Department helped provide the “rain” for the Wallenpaupack Area School District’s 2026 Rain Rally. It was a perfect day to help create some rain for a good cause!
