Please be aware of a new scam that is taking place. If you receive a text message about a toll charges or an outstanding traffic ticket, please do not click on the link this is a scam. If you receive text message or phone calls that are wanting you to send money please contact us at the police department we would be happy to help you. Do not give out any personal information.

If you receive a call or email from any person claiming to work for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), U.S. Marshall, or any other federal agency accusing you of being involved in a crime and stating you need to send them money, immediately report it to the Police Department.

These calls typically start with an email or call stating that one of your accounts (bank/SS/etc) has been compromised. The scam then leads you to someone who claims to work for a federal agency, stating you are being investigated for a crime and that you need to tell no one, and send them money.

This is is a scam.

Again, if you receive an email or a call from someone claiming to be an agent and telling you to tell no one, give them no information and call the Police Department.
