“This is a family.” Today the Poolees of RSS Spokane, RSS Kennewick, and RSS Yakima had a great time with a few drill instructors and learned more about our family.
The Marine family is not like any other. This is not the place to be an individual, it is a place to take care of your brother and sister to your left and right. This is a place that takes people from all different walks of life and transforms them into a Marine. There is no I, me, or my. This is a team, together we put the us in US Marine. This is a family that will sacrifice anything for each other, we believe in the development of each other as well as ourselves.

Tomorrow morning at 8:30AM, we will be holding a graveside service for my dad at Vineland Cemetery in Clarkston. It is not just for family since we know a lot of our friends were practically family as well. I’m sorry for the short notice so if you can not make it do not feel bad. Thank you to my friends from the LC Valley as well as my brothers in the Marine Corps for your unwavering support in these hard times, I love you all. I could go on for days of all the great things but I’m going to keep it short and to the point. I will never forget the times you were there for me. You whispering “stay focused” in my ear before every game, match, or while I was home on leave will forever carry on in my head. The love you had for us six kids did not go unnoticed, and no matter how hard we tried we could not match that level of love back! The drive you gave me helped me become the man I am today, the devotion to my success goes unmatched, and I wish I had one chance to tell you thank you. I love you more than I can put into words, fair winds and following seas, Semper Fidelis and until Valhalla dad.❤️⚓️🇺🇸

What does it take to be a leader? This time last year, I was blessed to have the opportunity to take charge of 92 Marines with my brothers. We were able to train, mentor, and lead these Marines in the proper techniques and procedures in order to be fluid and dynamic in the changing environment of the urban battle space. I was able to do this not just through my proficiency in my occupation, but the mentoring from my senior leaders that allowed me to utilize the leadership traits and principles instilled in me by becoming a Marine.
