Before he leant his iconic voice to the likes of Darth Vader 🛸 in “Star Wars” and Mufasa from “The Lion King” 🦁, 1st Lt. James Earl Jones played a pivotal role as an Army officer during the Korean War. Although initially planning to attend medical school, Jones enlisted in the Army in the summer of 1953, later helping pioneer the setup of a cold-weather training command at the former Camp Hale in Colorado.

After his service, Jones decided to follow in his father's thespian footsteps and used his GI Bill to study acting at the American Theatre Wing in New York City. It sure paid off. Jones is one of the few performers to achieve EGOT status, winning Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Awards for his work 🏆.

On November 3rd, we had the chance to bring two different military trucks to KTEC. We brought a HMMWV and an Oshkosh HEMTT A4 LHS for everyone in the automotive programs to check out! If you see yourself drop a comment and let us know if you enjoyed the presentation!
