High temperatures on Thursday are expected to climb into the upper 80s to mid 90s, resulting in a Moderate heat risk across the Idaho Panhandle.

This level of heat can impact individuals who are sensitive to heat, especially those without effective cooling or adequate hydration. Be sure to drink plenty of water, limit strenuous outdoor activity during peak heat, and check on vulnerable friends, family, and neighbors.

🇺🇸☀️ Memorial Day Weekend is here, Idaho! Time for camping, grilling, trail riding, and making memories with family and friends.

As you head outdoors this weekend, remember: most wildfires are human caused — and preventable.

🔥 Never leave a campfire unattended
🔥 Drown, stir, and feel your campfire DEAD OUT before leaving
🔥 Keep vehicles and trailers off dry grass
🔥 Check local fire restrictions before burning or recreating
🔥 Make safety part of the fun

This Memorial Day Weekend, let’s enjoy Idaho responsibly and work together to prevent unwanted human-caused fires.

Have fun. Stay safe. Prevent a wildfire start. 🌲
