WE are excited to announce that the Board of Elections is partnering up with the Clay County Progress on a "I Voted" sticker contest. The Contest is opened to the 6th and 7th grades.

Every Election I Voted stickers are given to the voters after they have voted. This contest, having the students design a sticker pertaining to the elections, is to encourage youth involvement in democracy and promote civic engagement. The winning sticker will be given out to voters during the General Election in November 2026.

How it works:
A entry form can be picked up at the school counselor's office, the Clay County Progress, or the Board of Elections office. The submission deadline is March 20, 2026 at 3:00pm. Entry forms must be turned in at the above places.
--The sticker committee (comprised by the Board of Election employees and members of the Clay County Progress will review all entries in April 2026
--Top 5 entries will be chosen.
--the winner will be chosen from the votes on the Clay County Progress page, the Clay County Board of Elections page and website.

The winning design will become the official I Voted sticker for November 2026 and receive $100.

Municipal Candidate filing starts at 8am Monday, July 7th to noon on Friday, July 18th. Filing for Mayor and Town Council

The Clay County Board of Elections will be collecting coats and blankets during the early voting period at our office at 75 Riverside Circle Ste 3 Hayesville NC 28904. These donations will be sent to our neighbors in Western North Carolina, We are open Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm and Saturday November 2nd 8 am to 3 pm. Early Voting starts Thursday October 17th through November 2nd. Please call 828-389-6812 if you have any questions.
