The Town of Haymarket Town Council has partnered with Haymarket Regional Food Pantry utilizing CARES ACT Funds to make a donation of $50,000 to help provide food for individuals who are dealing with food insecurity. If you need help or are in a position to provide volunteer time or donations please reach out at https://haymarketfoodpantry.org/ or call (703) 754-5990.

Thank you to the Town of Haymarket (Haymarket Town Hall) for directing some 2020 Cares Act funding to us. We have used these funds to help fill the gaps of our food inventory AND purchase household and personal hygiene items for our clients. In the past we rarely had such items, but now (while supplies last) we can offer our clients toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner, tooth paste, deodorant, feminine products, diapers, dish soap, and much more. Special thanks to our suppliers Harris Teeter Store #338 in Gainesville and Sysco for helping us place this very large order, and thank you to the many volunteers who helped us unload the deliveries!

Helping Haymarket: Program aided small businesses

We are thankful for all of the residents and businesses that participated in the Voucher Program. As well as, everyone that visits our many small businesses! Everyone in the community has worked together to support the well-being of our citizens, community, and businesses. This is one of the many reasons that the Town of Haymarket is everyone’s hometown.

Miguel Pires, the owner of Zandra’s Taqueria in Haymarket, said he was confused at first why so many customers were flocking to his restaurant in mid-November.

This Saturday's weather is looking like a very nice day. Start off your day by walking with Mayor Luersen for his monthly "Walk with the Mayor". Join the Mayor in front of Town Hall at 9 am. He plans on walking the north side of Fayette Street and in front of the commercial properties on the west side of Washington Street. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and share any comments with the Mayor that you may have while on the walk.

Two questions that no one has answered for me. In the Trading square shopping center with Walmart and Kohls. What is it they are building? It's been going on for over a year now. It's obviously some sort of underground utilities but what? Also what are they building at the intersection of Washington and Jefferson Streets?
As today is the last day to get passports stamped, quick question. Are there other businesses besides those listed on the passport that can stamp? For example, Cupcake Heaven? I looked on the website but couldn't find any information specific to the passport. Thanks!

Dear Mayor Leake, I have found the election propaganda you (or your croneys) sent to my home to be absolutely abhorrent. Bullying your way into re-election in a town full of hardworking and well educated residents will NOT be tolerated. A theme I have noticed with those who have been serving our town is that they leave because they can no longer tolerate your behavior. So much turnover in the town is a direct reflection of your "management"... Or in this case, mismanagement. David Leake, you should be ASHAMED of the manner in which you are conducting yourself. The same applies to the people assisting your mudslinging efforts. You will not have my vote, and thank you for making your bullying behavior so apparent, that every resident now knows not to vote for you. Sincerely, A concerned resident
