“When we look at substance use through a trauma-informed lens, we often see far more than addiction – we see someone trying to survive.”
This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re examining the complex relationship between coercive control, abuse, trauma, and substance dependence. Survivors deserve understanding, not judgment.

This afternoon we celebrated an incredible group of seniors who have helped shape the heart of our Student Advisory Board.

Erin, Keeley, Bryson, Kamryn, Jude, Gracie, and Johanna - thank you for the time, compassion, courage, and leadership you brought to this work. Your voices have made a difference in your schools, your communities, and in the lives of the people around you.

Advocacy takes strength. Leadership takes heart. Each of you stepped up to create change, spark important conversations, and help build a safer, more compassionate future. We are endlessly proud of the leaders you already are, and even more excited to see the impact you’ll continue to make in the world.

While we’ll miss you dearly, we know this is only the beginning. The future is brighter because of students like you. Congratulations, seniors - and thank you for leading the next generation of change. 💜🎓options

PART TWO:

More than 350 people showed up for Rock Against R**e last Saturday, and we’re still riding the high!

Every year, RAR gets bigger, louder, and more community-driven. That support matters because without it, conversations about sexual violence and survivor support might not happen as openly or as often.

Hundreds of people showed up, learned about Options services, connected with friends, listened to great music, and made a real impact just by being there.

A huge thank you to the Sip 'N Spin Bar & Grill for providing the perfect space to host the night. This event wouldn’t happen without community partners willing to stand with us and support the mission.

If you came out, had a good time, asked questions, grabbed stickers, or donated — you helped make the night what it was. Your support means more than you know, and we’re already excited for next year! ⚡️🎸

PART ONE: The Bands 🎸🤘🏼

Our 5th Annual Rock Against R**e was an unforgettable night, and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible bands who brought the energy, passion, and heart to the stage!

A huge thank you to Zach Mars Band, Reprise, Refuse to Say Goodbye, Parl, and Space Ape for using your music and voices to raise awareness, support survivors, and connect folks in our community to Options mission. You helped create a night of connection, advocacy, and hope that we won’t soon forget.

Thank you for standing with us and making RAR such a powerful event. 🔥

We’ll say it over and over: alcohol doesn’t cause r**e — rapists do.

No one “asks for it” because they were drinking. The blame belongs entirely to the person who chose to commit harm.

Join us tomorrow at Rock Against R**e as we stand against victim blaming and show up loud for survivors. 🤘🏼🎸
