Chief David Maclin reports:

On March 21st, 2026, at approximately 12:10am Hayti Officers along with the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department responded to multiple gun shots fired in the 900 block of North Oates.
Upon arrival Officers secured the scene and spoke with the victim’s involved in the shooting. The victim’s vehicle had been struck at least four times. The suspects were later identified, and charges were filed with the Pemiscot County Prosecutors office.

On March 24th, 2026, The Pemiscot County Prosecutor’s office formally charged Jamaal L. Jackson (23), Talmadge O. West (21) and Lee A. Smith (21) are all from Caruthersville. Jackson and West have been charged with Assault – 1st degree or attempt (Class B Felony), Armed criminal action (Felony Unclassified), Assault 1st degree or attempt (Class B Felony), Armed Criminal Action (Felony Unclassified), Unlawful use of a weapon – Subsection 9 – Shoot at/from a Mv. At a person, Mov, Bldg. (Class B Felony) and Unlawful Possession of a weapon (Class C Felony).

Smith was charged with Assault – 1st degree or attempt (Class B Felony), Armed criminal action (Felony Unclassified), Assault 1st degree or attempt (Class B Felony), Armed Criminal Action (Felony Unclassified), and Unlawful use of a weapon – Subsection 9 – Shoot at/from a Mv. At a person, Mov, Bldg. (Class B Felony). They have no bond warrants currently.

On March 26th, 2026, Jamaal J. Jackson was located and arrested and his currently being held at the Pemiscot County Justice Center without bond.

On March 22nd, 2026, at approximately 8:44pm Hayti Officers along with the Pemiscot County Sheriff’s department responded to the 300blk of East Main Street in reference to a robbery that had just occurred at a local business.

Officers secured the scene and processed it and are currently working an active investigation. Officers have one person of interest and are currently looking for the suspect.

Chief David Maclin reports:

On March 8th, 2026, at approximately 10:50pm Hayti Officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 84 East for a speeding violation. Hayti Officers made contact with the driver later identified as Ricky L. Long (63) of Caruthersville. Officers conducted a check of his driver's license and his driver's license was revoked. Long also had failed to register as a s*x offender. Hayti Officers issued citations for Driving While Revoke, Speeding and he was arrested for Failure to Register as a s*x offender. Long was transported to the Pemiscot County Justice center.

Later that morning the Pemiscot County Prosecutors office formally charged Long with Fail to register as a s*x offender (Class E Felony) and he has no Bond.

On Friday 13th, 2026 at approximately 1:07pm Hayti Officers were requested to respond to the 100 blk of North Martin Luther King drive in Hayti Heights. Officers were advised there was a domestic in progress.

Upon arrival Hayti Officers along with Caruthersville Police arrived and separated the parties involved. Hayti Officers spoke with both parties and subsequently arrested a black female (19) from Hayti Heights. The suspect was arrested for Resisting Arrest and transported to the Pemiscot County Justice Center on a 24-hour hold.

On Monday March 16th, 2026, The Pemiscot County Prosecutors office formally charged Lanysia M. Branch with Resisting/Interfering with Arrest, Detention or Stop (Class A Misdemeanor) and Escape or Attempted Escape from Custody (Class A Misdemeanor). Branch was located and arrested and transported to the Pemiscot County Justice Center with a bond of $5,000.00 dollars cash or surety. Branch may have additional charges as the investigation continues.
