HCFS's annual Holiday Meal Program will begin Monday, November 2nd! Clients may pick up their Holiday Meal either in November or December, but only one time. This meal is in addition to our normal monthly distribution.

The meal will include a $15 meat coupon (redeemable at Marketplace Foods, Lynn's Custom Meats, or the LCO Country Store) and other items to enjoy a holiday meal.

The Holiday Meal may vary according to family size and supplies on hand.

Thanks to Timber Ford of Hayward for your generous donation of $1550 and 65 pounds of food on Monday!

In the month of September, Timber Ford collected food and donated $50 from each car sold to the food shelf as part of Ford's annual Global Caring Month and the Ford Building Together initiative.

We appreciate your continuing partnership with HCFS and making a difference for those experiencing food insecurity in our communities.

Did you know HCFS has a donation drop-off location inside the Marketplace Foods in Hayward? This is a convenient place to donate non-perishable food items outside of our operating hours.

You can purchase an extra item or two while shopping or bring in items from home. Leave them in the drop-off location at the front of the store. Donations are picked up every Monday by HCFS volunteers.

We thank you for your continuing support!

Our volunteers do so much more than distribute food. They work behind the scenes to keep our food shelf clean, organized, and running smoothly.

A huge "thank you" to our amazing cleaning crew, led by Matt Ostrander and Bob Jozwiak, who rolled up their sleeves and gave the Hayward Community Food Shelf some extra TLC!

Volunteers cleaned the walk-in cooler, two refrigerators, and all the totes, bins, and racks.

We appreciate you!

Last month, HCFS received 100 pounds of coffee beans from Feed My People.

A special shout-out to our friends at Midwest Roasters, who generously ground the beans so we could repackage the coffee and distribute it to our clients.

We are so grateful for the generosity and support of our community partners!
