Marine Corps Marital Arts Program (MCMAP) offers offensive and defensive techniques that range from basic kicks, punches, throws and grappling techniques to training Marines in advanced fighting and defensive techniques for hand-to-hand combat situations.

Marines can take different MCMAP courses to attain different belt levels, starting at tan and making their way up through grey, green, brown and black.

Bulk Fuel Specialists install, operate, maintain and repair fuel handling units and accessory equipment, and test petroleum products to evaluate the quality used in amphibious assault fuel handling systems.

Bulk Fuel Specialists are an integral part of Forward Air Refueling Point (FARP) missions. The FARP mission is to provide fuel and ordnance necessary for highly mobile and flexible helicopter and fixed-wing operations. The size of the FARP varies with the mission and the number of aircraft to be serviced.

The Field Radio Operator is a versatile Marine and can be utilized in any unit in the Marine Corps such as Engineering, Artillery, Infantry, Headquarters, Communications, etc.

The main job of Field Radio Operators is to employ radio to send and receive messages. Typical duties include the setup and tuning of radio equipment, including building and repairing antennas and power sources. The Field Radio Operators number one responsibility is to establish contact with distant stations and process and log messages.

A Marine Corps Field Artillery Cannoneer is an important part of the field artillery team. Cannoneers serve the field artillery Howitzer Battery preparing a preparing artillery pieces and equipment for movement, combat, and firing.

The basic skills needed include an ability to operate and maintain artillery equipment, basic technical and math skills for computing, communicating and executing commands, the ability to work closely with others in a field environment, and performing technical skills as necessary.

Approximately 250 Marines and Sailors from 7th ESB are helping to fight the 292,172-acre wildfire in northern California. U.S. Marines with Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting, Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton, climb stairs during a 9/11 memorial stair climb on MCAS Camp Pendleton, California, Sept. 11, 2020.

The ARFF Marines honored the fallen firefighters of 9/11 by hiking up 1,980 stairs to replicate the climb made by first responders in the World Trade Center.

In an effort to counter the growing threat of piracy, the Navy deployed the Maritime Raid Force. The MRF specializes in operations conducted on structures in or near bodies of water. They utilize speed and stealth to take enemy forces by surprise and secure their target.

The MRF is composed of Marines and Sailors divided into three platoons: force reconnaissance for assault, amphibious reconnaissance for support, and a battalion landing team for security.

U.S. Marines with Battalion Landing Team (BLT), 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), rappel down the side of a well deck while conducting rappelling and climbing rehearsals.

The BLT is a reinforced infantry battalion, which is the Ground Combat Element of the MEU’s amphibious Marine Air-Ground Task Force. It mainly consists of three rifle companies, along with artillery, light-armored reconnaissance, assault amphibian, and combat engineer attachments. These elements are readily available to be called upon by the MEU commander to harness and project ground-based combat power from ship-to-shore when the situation calls for it.

7051 Aircraft Rescue and Firefighter

Aircraft Rescue and Firefighters support airfield operations at forward-operating bases and installations with fire suppression and extinguishment, extrication and rescue, basic emergency medical services, salvage and overhaul operations and immediate hazardous material response.

Additional training includes breaking and cutting old metal lockers with a K12 fire rescue saw, jaws-of-life hydraulic cutters and fireman axes to simulate breaking into a downed aircraft to save personnel trapped inside.
