Dear Community Members,

We would like to bring to your attention to an important matter regarding recent scam calls that have been reported in our area. It has come to our notice that individuals are impersonating officers from the Hazard Police Department, using tactics to deceive residents into providing personal information or money.

Please be advised that the Hazard Police Department will never contact you by phone to request money or inform you of any outstanding warrants. If you receive such a call, it is a scam. These scammers have been known to manipulate caller ID systems to make it appear as though the call is coming from our official phone number, which can be misleading.

If you ever have doubts about the legitimacy of a call from someone claiming to be a police officer, we encourage you to verify their identity. You can do this by calling 911 or our police department directly at 606-436-2222. Our officers are always willing to assist you and confirm any inquiries you may have.

Your safety and trust are our top priorities. Please remain vigilant and report any suspicious calls or activities to the Hazard Police Department.
