Nobody voted to lose their health care coverage. Nobody voted to lose their job. Nobody voted to have to travel two or three hours to get routine health care coverage. A cut like this could be just as impactful or worse than the decline of the coal economy. Eastern Kentucky deserves more than our elected officials are delivering.
Let me be perfectly clear: everyone should be able to recieve routine healthcare coverage without it bankrupting them. We can’t claim to be the greatest country in the world and neglect to take care of our citizens’ basic needs.
Party leaders and healthcare advocates gathered at Hazard Community and Technical College, where they said the changes could reduce coverage for thousands of Kentuckians and put rural hospitals at risk of closing.
