Our hometown does this thing where you buy a lock for $5, paint it and latch it to a metal sculpture that says HOPE. The money goes back into our school district. Today we placed our 3 locks that represent us on the sculpture.

HP residents invited to add to ‘HOPE’ sculpture

We can all use a little HOPE for the future! You may have seen the HOPE sculpture outside of Tony's Hardware on Woodward Heights and John R Road. Here's where the idea for this sculpture originated and where it went. We HOPE the community will enjoy this sculpture at it's new home!

HAZEL PARK — This past month, as part of Hazel Park’s “ArtOber” promotion, a variety of sculptures were set up around town. Now one of the pieces is moving to a new permanent location, and residents will be able to add their own decorative touch at an upcoming event.

We'd also like to thank the people, companies, and organizations that donated items for our silent auctions and basket raffles.

Hazel Park Schools Students have been very lucky this year! A donor from a law firm donated school supplies to Hoover. And the Hazel Park Library has been collecting supplies and backpack for our students. Today LG that just opened here in Hazel Park, came in and met with our Community Rep Lisa Chrouch-Johnson. They are bringing in backpacks for the last Ice Cream Social for Hazel Park Schools students that are in need of back to school supplies. These will be given out at the back to school enrollment night on August 21st. Your child MUST BE REGISTERED in Hazel Park Public school to get a backpack. And we will give out until they are gone or 8 pm. If you enroll your child on the 21st or before you can come to get a backpack. If you do not want/need a backpack still come and enjoy some ice cream. Our Success Coaches from DHS Pathways 2 Potentials will also be here on the Re-enrollment night! Come and meet them each of the school will have a Success Coach on staff (high school coach is coming in the fall).
IT IS HERE!! The high school drama kids worked very hard on their play. Please bring the whole family! It is going to be great! April 12, 13, & 14 starting at 7 pm. On Friday the 13 the Creative Arts is doing their kid-friendly fundraiser dinner for the arts programs in the school district. See flyer for more information.
