🇺🇸 RURAL GEORGIA, THIS IS YOUR WAKE-UP CALL 🇺🇸
Friends, I'm going to be blunt, because the numbers demand it. Right now metro Atlanta is beating us at the ballot box, and it isn't close.
The latest Secretary of State numbers show 832,391 Georgians have already voted, which is 11.1% statewide. Look at where those votes are coming from:
• Metro Atlanta's core counties are at about 13%. That's more than 1 in every 8 voters.
• Here at home in Colquitt County, we're at 6.7%. That's barely 1 in 15.
• Brooks 7.0%, Decatur 7.6%, Worth 7.6%, Clinch 5.8%, Atkinson 5.7%, Echols 5.7%, Seminole 4.6%.
Atlanta is voting at TWICE the rate of Colquitt County. Nearly every county in South Georgia is running below the state average.
Let me tell you what that means. Keisha Lance Bottoms can win this race no matter how bad she is if rural Georgia doesn't show up. She doesn't need to win South Georgia. She only needs us to stay home. Her people understand that, and they are voting right now.
Don't think your vote won't matter. In 2018, the governor's race was decided by about 55,000 votes. There are more registered voters than that in Colquitt, Tift and Thomas counties combined. Rural Georgia doesn't just have a say in this election. We can decide it.
When we show up, Atlanta has to pay attention to our farms, our small businesses, our schools, our hospitals, our property taxes and our way of life. When we stay home, our voice shrinks. So does the ability of every rural legislator fighting for us under the Gold Dome. I work alongside those legislators every session, and they carry exactly as much weight as we give them at the ballot box.
Now, I know a lot of you are Election Day voters. I respect the tradition. But I'm asking you this year: DON'T WAIT. Anything can happen between now and November 3rd. A sick child. A flat tire. A storm. A breakdown in the middle of harvest. A long line you don't have time to stand in. Every one of those has kept good people from voting before. Early voting removes all of that risk. Vote when it's convenient, and then it's done and nobody can take it from you.
✅ Early voting reopens MONDAY, Oct. 19, and runs every weekday through Friday, Oct. 30
✅ Saturday voting on Oct. 24
✅ Vote at any early voting site in your county
✅ Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3
Then bring somebody with you. Your spouse, your parents, your grown kids, a friend from church, the fellow at the feed store. Every rural voter who stays home is a vote Atlanta doesn't have to beat.
Our parents and grandparents built these communities with their own hands. Do not let anyone else decide their future for us.
Vote early. Vote this week. Bring a neighbor.
God bless you, and God bless rural Georgia. 🇺🇸
