The safety of our students, staff, families, and visitors is always our top priority. With that in mind, we have the opportunity to add weapons detection at our athletic events (as many districts across the state have already implemented), giving us another layer of security and allows us to be proactive in keeping our events safe. We know this is a change from what everyone is used to, and there may be a learning curve at first. We have listed several items that may cause the weapons system to go off in hopes that you can be aware and not have those items in your bag. We don't want to slow down the entry process any more than necessary. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work together to make Friday nights and all of our athletic events as safe and enjoyable as possible.

It is with a heavy heart that I extend my deepest condolences to the family of Billy Brewer.
Mr. Billy has been a valued member of the Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office since September 20, 2022. Throughout his time with us, he came to work each day with a smile on his face and a willingness to serve.
I never had to worry about Billy being late to anything because he was always early. His dedication, dependability, and positive spirit were truly appreciated by everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Billy will be deeply missed by me and by the entire Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office family. We are grateful for his years of service and the memories he leaves behind.

Please keep Mr. Billy’s family, friends, and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

The Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office will be closed Thursday at 11:00 AM as our employees attend the funeral services for our beloved employee and friend.

🚨 Traffic Assistance at Jeff Davis Primary School 🚨

Sheriff Bohannon and our deputies are assisting Jeff Davis Primary School with traffic flow to help make arrival smoother and safer for everyone.

Please bear with us as we work alongside the school system to ensure our children get to school safely and in a timely manner. 💙💛

Thank you for your patience and cooperation!

Once again, we sincerely thank you for your patience as we begin this school year with a new school and new traffic patterns.
After evaluating the traffic flow at the new primary school, we will make an adjustment to our morning drop-off procedures to help relieve congestion on Pat Dixon Road. Please make note of the following changes beginning tomorrow morning:
🔔PRE-K / KINDERGARTEN:
• You will continue to enter and exit from Pat Dixon Road, just as you have the past two days.
🔔1ST / 2ND GRADE:
• You will enter the school from Broxton Highway and drop off at the gymnasium entrance. You will then loop around and exit the school onto Broxton Highway.
🚨IMPORTANT🚨
☑ If you have multiple students who would normally use different drop-off locations, you may use either location.
☑ When entering the drop-off area, please pull all the way forward to the last school employee. This will allow us to unload the maximum number of vehicles at one time and help keep traffic moving efficiently.
🚔The sheriff's department will have a deputy at both the entrances on Pat Dixon Rd. and the Broxton Hwy for morning drop-off.
Thank you again for your patience and cooperation as we work together to create a morning drop-off process that is safe and efficient for our students, families, and staff.
We appreciate your continued support as we make adjustments and work to improve the process!
