Sunday was a great day for 2 Hazlet Girl Scout Troops plant trees in Natco Park. Hazlet Environmental Commission hosted a group tree planting with 2 Hazlet Girl Scout Troops and the weather did not disappoint. The girls planted around 30 tree seedlings around our Natco Park Environmental Building. We are excited to see these trees mature over the years along with the young women that did the planting. Thank you to all of the children that participated and the moms that supervised. We even had a few residents stop by to pick up free seedlings. A wonderful day for Natco Park.

Hazlet Earth Day Tree Giveaway was a great success! We had a great turn out and a huge response. Residents and visitors came and selected their favorites to add or replace trees in their yards. Thank you for all that came out and to all of the commissioners and volunteers that made this day a great tribute to Earth Day.
We do have some trees left and we will be back at our Environmental Building this Sunday at 10:30 AM for a group tree planting with some girl scouts troops supplementing our Natco Park. A great group activity.
While supplies last, additional tree seedlings are available, so come on over to 399 Middle Road and add some beauty to our environment.

Hazlet Environmental Commission participated in Hazlet's Hop into Spring event on March 23rd. The weather was not cooperative so the event was held indoors. Despite the rain, many families came and collected a lot of fun Easter items and got their chance to get a picture with the East Bunny. HEC had a great craft for a rainy day, a DIY flowerpot that they can decorate, various types of flower seeds and a environmental decorated lollipop. A huge success and thank you everyone that came and all that helped in the prep work during the week and participating on this rainy day. Thank you to Hazlet Recreation Department in setting this up, a great fun event for all.

If you see a Spotted Lanternfly, make sure to stomp it out!

This invasive species feeds off plant sap from over 70 different species of plants and trees. While they are not harmful to humans or animals, they can have a detrimental effect on plants due to feeding stress and an over abundance of their excreted honeydew which can cause mold.

Stomp! It! Out! Our crops are relying on us.
