IT is with extreme sadness that the East End Engine and Hose Co. # 3 report the passing of member Mark Swank on September 3rd 2025
Mark joined the East End Engine and Hose C0. #3 on March 2, 1974, at 18 years old, Mark was a very active member and a highly respected interior fire fighter, He held numerous company offices over the years, President, Vice President, Foreman of the pumper. He also received an award for Fire Fighter of the year in the 80’s.

Mark was one of the original members of the East End “A “team which was one of the city’s most aggressive interior fire fighters.

Mark served as a Comprehensive Employment and Training Title II “CETA “fire driver for the city of Hazleton from August 11, 1980, till July 24th, 1981, when the federal funding was cut . Mark wore badge # 60 as a Hazleton Fire driver.
Funeral arrangements a Mass of Christian burial with be held on Tuesday September 16th at 10 Am in Good Shepherd Church Drums, The viewing will be held Monday September 15th from 5-8 pm at Fierro Funeral home Hazleton. Company members are asked to meet for 7 pm in dress uniform and another other fire personnel.
