BIG CHECK DAY: HEALDSBURG HIGH SCHOOL WELLNESS CENTER 💚✨

We asked. You showed up. Our students thrive.

On September 1, we came together with students, school district representatives, Healthcare Foundation staff, and supporters to celebrate our community’s response to an important need.

When we put out the call for donations to help preserve the Wellness Outreach & Intake Specialist position, our community stepped up. Thanks to your generosity, this critical position can continue this school year, helping students access mental health care and support when they need it.

Pedimos ayuda. Ustedes respondieron. Nuestros estudiantes prosperan.

El 1 de septiembre nos reunimos con estudiantes, representantes del distrito escolar, personal de la Fundación de Salud y muchos más para celebrar cómo nuestra comunidad respondió a una necesidad importante.

Cuando hicimos el llamado para reunir donaciones y así mantener el puesto de Especialista en Bienestar y Recepción, nuestra comunidad respondió. It's amazing what we can accomplish together! ♥️

We want to extend a huge thank you to the Healthcare Foundation Northern Sonoma County for their incredible generosity and support of the Healdsburg High School Wellness Center. This donation will help the Wellness Center continue to support our students as a space they can use to find support and pause to decompress when they need a break.

Welcome to the Board, John Bursick!

The Healthcare Foundation is pleased to welcome John Bursick to our Board of Directors.

John is a California-licensed attorney at Rapport & Marston in Ukiah, where his practice focuses on federal Indian law, tribal litigation, and regulatory advocacy. A former Health Law Fellow at UC Davis Health, John also brings experience in healthcare regulatory compliance and policy, along with a strong interest in biotechnology and medicine.

We look forward to the expertise and perspective John will bring to the Healthcare Foundation and our work throughout northern Sonoma County.

We'll be sitting down with John for a future newsletter to help our community get to know him better. Stay tuned!

A quick message from our Executive Director, Amy Ramirez, who was in San Francisco today, and about to take the stage with Sarah Steenhausen of the California Department of Aging at OPEN MINDS Circle Excellence 2026 to talk about building age-ready systems of care.

Amy will be discussing the work we're doing in Cloverdale at the Senior Center with La Familia Sana and On The Margins to support healthy aging in our community.

Thank you to Summit State Bank for an inspiring day bringing together nonprofit leaders from across the North Bay to learn, connect, and strengthen our community.

A highlight of the event was the panel moderated by Linda Jacobs, Chief Executive Officer of the CVNL Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership, featuring our Executive Director, Amy Ramirez, alongside Erica Vogel, CEO of Community Matters -Safe School Ambassadors, and Ron Karp, Executive Director of Food For Thought.

We also appreciated the insights shared by keynote speaker Darian Rodriguez Heyman, founder of Helping People Help and author of "AI for Nonprofits".
