Yes on O!

A “Yes” vote is a vote in favor of amending the City of Healdsburg’s Growth Management Ordinance, as outlined below.

About measure O: To encourage creation of middle class and workforce housing on underutilized parcels, should the City of Healdsburg exempt multi-family housing along certain portions of the Healdsburg Avenue corridor from the Growth Management Ordinance?

"Housing is not just a necessity; it is an equity issue that demands our urgent attention. Essentially no middle-income housing has been built in Healdsburg since the original growth management ordinance (GMO) was passed. While we’ve made significant strides in building more affordable housing, the waitlist for families remains years long. Many families are already living in substandard or overcrowded conditions right here in Healdsburg. This situation is unsustainable and unacceptable."

Senate President pro Tempore Mike McGuire, a proud Healdsburg native, has officially endorsed Measure O. This carefully crafted measure creates a pathway for the housing we need: middle-class homes so the people who serve our town—teachers, public safety officers, and local families— can live in the town they love.

"Measure O is an opportunity for Healdsburg voters to allow the missing middle housing that has been all but prohibited for 24 years. It’s a forward-thinking and climate-friendly solution to the housing affordability problem that dogs our community- a problem that will only get worse if we maintain the status quo."

With so much misinformation circulating in our community, we extra appreciate groups like Greenbelt Alliance keeping the facts straight! From the article:

"The proposed measure would allow for the city-centered infill development of multi-family homes in specific areas that are well suited to promote walkable communities.

Healdsburg’s 20% inclusionary housing ordinance will require that 20% of all proposed new units be deed-restricted Affordable, meaning it would remain affordable for future homeowners. Measure O allows for both for-sale and for-rent market rate units, based on zoning and local land use code."

Thank you to the Greenbelt Alliance!

Greenbelt Alliance encourages Healdsburg residents to vote YES on Measure O to encourage development of multi-family homes for middle class and workforce housing.
