We are getting lots of calls regarding AC units! Please do not continuously turn units off and on. Keeping a consistent temperature while adjusting your thermostat a few degrees when you leave and arrive home will help save on your energy bill and also help keep your home comfortable!

We’re looking into costs of shades over our playground equipment.

Do you think that sunshade would increase the use of the playgrounds?

A/C Thermostat and Settings
Set a steady temperature:
Pick a comfortable setting, like 72°F to 75°F, and leave it alone. Changing it a lot makes the unit work too hard. Setting the temperature too low in the summer heat can backfire and freeze up the unit and it will stop cooling.

Raise it when away: Turn the temperature up 7 to 10 degrees when you are not home to save power. 💸

Use ceiling fans: Turn on ceiling fans to help move cool air around. Make sure the blades spin counterclockwise in the summer and you feel the flow.

Know that air conditioners are only able to do so much when we have extreme weather.

For example; the air conditioner can only cool about 20 degrees from the outside air
temperature. 🥵 Example; when it's 100 outside, 80 degrees inside is all it can do.
Summer time it's recommended that optimal thermostat settings are between 75 to 78 degrees. Utilize ceiling fans to help it feel even more comfortable.

Keep airflow to a minimum by keeping windows 🪟 and doors 🚪 shut.

DO NOT TURN OFF your a/c, your unit will never be able to cool your apartment again and the machinery will “freeze up” and stop working properly.

DO NOT set thermostat on 50, 60 or 65 degrees either - it won’t get down to that and will freeze up. BESIDES no body could afford it if it did! 😬🫣🤗

Air-conditioning not working is very inconvenient. (I know this because mine was not working last night.) Find someone to stay safe with tonight and the maintenance staff will come out first thing in the morning - in order of work orders reported.

We know how much our residents look forward to cooling off at the Eastside Park pool, so it is with great disappointment that we share the reason for its recent unexpected closure. Unfortunately, the pool facility was the target of vandalism.

We deeply regret that this happened. Vandalism not only strains city resources, but it also directly impacts you—our community—by taking away the safe, enjoyable spaces we all share. We sincerely hope for your understanding as we navigated this frustrating and unexpected delay.

The Good News:
Our crews have worked diligently to clean, repair, and secure the facility. We are thrilled to announce that the Eastside Park swimming pool will officially resume normal operations TOMORROW!

Thank you for your patience and for standing together to keep Hearne a wonderful place to live and play. We are committed to providing safe, beautiful spaces for our residents to enjoy, and we can't wait to welcome you back to the water tomorrow!
