Progress is happening on our two new public safety stations!

Station 30, located at 300 Chris Cuny Parkway, has completed all flatwork and underground utilities, with pier drilling scheduled to begin next week.

Station 31, located at 1300 FM 740, went vertical this week and construction is moving quickly.

We’re excited to see these stations take shape and even more excited about what they will mean for expanding emergency services to our community.

**Burglary Suspect Arrested**

Great work by C Shift and our Criminal Investigations Division in identifying and arresting a suspect in a burglary of a habitation that occurred in our community on August 10, 2026.

Utilizing our ALPR system, officers developed investigative leads that helped identify the suspect and close the case in less than 24 hours. All stolen property was recovered and returned to the victim.

Excellent teamwork and another example of technology helping our officers protect our community.

Today marked a historic milestone for our department and our community.

This afternoon, Truck 30, the first ladder truck in the history of our department, responded to its first emergency call.

This moment represents years of planning, investment, and a shared commitment to enhancing the safety of our community. We are grateful to our residents, Mayor and City Council, and City Management for their continued support of public safety. Thank you for making milestones like this possible as we continue serving the City of Heath with pride.

Help keep emergency access clear.

Our new ladder truck needs at least 14 feet of vertical clearance to safely travel down neighborhood streets. Low hanging branches over roadways can delay emergency response, damage emergency vehicles, and create hazards for first responders.

Take a moment to check the trees along the street in front of your home or business. If branches are hanging too low, consider trimming them to help keep roadways clear.

A little maintenance today can make a big difference when every second counts.

We recently celebrated the retirement of Captain Rowan after 23 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Rockwall County, including the last 10 years with the City of Heath. During his career, he earned numerous awards and commendations, including the TCOLE Medal of Valor, one of the highest honors a Texas peace officer can receive.

Please join us in congratulating Captain Rowan on his retirement and thanking him for his dedicated service to our community. We wish him the very best on his new adventure.

Reminder: Fireworks within the city limits are strictly prohibited.

Instead of engaging in firework displays, we encourage you to explore alternative ways to celebrate responsibly. Please remember that our city ordinance exists to protect everyone's wellbeing and to prevent accidents, injuries, and fires.

Violators can face fines of up to $2,000.
The use of fireworks also puts an unnecessary strain on our Public Safety Officers who are working to keep the community safe. Stay safe everyone!
