Hope to see everyone at the Viking Festival!!

Two days away.

Come as you are, or come dressed for the part. Tunics, cloaks, leather, runes, and whatever else makes it feel real. The park will be full of living history, a forge, music, and a market under the trees. Dress up, wander the encampment, interact with the Vikings and spend the day in it.
Contests and prizes for best Viking, best hair, best beard, best horn blow and best war cry.

Folkvangr Weekend is October 24–25 at Heavener Runestone Park.
Gates open at 10 AM both days.

The Le Flore County burn ban has been lifted effective today, October 19! 🍂

Please continue to use caution and follow all applicable City burning rules. Avoid burning on windy days, keep water nearby, and never leave a fire unattended.

The burn ban has been extended, and no outdoor burning is allowed. Please hold off on burning brush, leaves, trash, or having bonfires.

🌧️ Rain does NOT automatically lift the ban! Restrictions remain in place during the extension, even after rainfall.

We had a great time at the Heavener Lions Club Carnival in Heavener this past Saturday!

It was a great opportunity to share a piece of Oklahoma Highway Patrol history with the Heavener community. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to visit, say hello to our troopers, and check out a little piece of OHP history!

We appreciate the warm welcome and look forward to seeing you again!

🚧💧 WATER OUTAGE NOTICE — OCTOBER 6

Water service will be temporarily interrupted beginning at 10:00 AM today on the northeast side of Heavener for a water leak repair.

📍 Affected area: Morris Creek to Main Street and East Avenue B to Burns Lane.

⏰ The outage is expected to last approximately 3 hours, with service anticipated to return around 1:00 PM. Repair times may vary.

🔥 BURN BAN EXTENDED – NO OUTDOOR BURNING 🔥

The LeFlore County Commissioners have voted to extend the county-wide burn ban for October 5 through October 12.

🚫 NO OUTDOOR BURNING is permitted while the burn ban remains in effect.

🌧️ Please remember: Rainfall does NOT automatically lift or cancel the burn ban. Even if your area receives rain, the burn ban remains in effect until it is officially lifted by the LeFlore County Commissioners.

Please continue to avoid outdoor burning and use extra caution with any activity that could create sparks or ignite dry grass or vegetation.
