A little clarification about our new City seal

We’ve seen a lot of conversation today about the two versions of our new City seal, and we want to clear up a few things.

We have spoken with Emaline Wiles, and we appreciate the opportunity to have that conversation with her.

Most importantly, the City of Heavener has never altered either version of the seal that was provided to us. We received two completed versions as part of this project, and our intention from the beginning has been to use both of them.

Emaline’s artwork has not been rejected, replaced or set aside. In fact, her version is already being used by the City. It has been incorporated into our official City website, magnets for our police vehicles, and City uniforms. You will continue to see it used.

You will also see the alternate version used in other places. There was never meant to be a competition between the two designs or a decision that one artist’s work was somehow “better” than another’s. We simply received two versions that we felt could each serve the City well in different applications, and we are proud to use both.

This project started with artwork from Heavener High School students and continued through the work of talented people with ties to our community. The last thing we ever wanted was for something intended to celebrate Heavener and its talent to leave anyone feeling hurt or unappreciated.

We’re proud of the hometown talent that went into this project, including Emaline’s contribution, and we hope that as both versions begin appearing around town, they can be seen for what they were intended to be: a fresh look for our City that was inspired and created through the talents of people from our own community.

There was never any intention to take credit away from an artist or diminish anyone’s contribution. We simply want to use and enjoy both versions that were provided to us and move forward celebrating the people who helped make them possible.

We are now serving after-school meals at Patrick Lynch Public Library! Meals are available Monday through Friday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. for children ages 18 and under.

🎨 **A New City Seal, Created by Heavener Talent!** 🎨

Back in the spring, we began a journey to create a new City of Heavener seal—and we knew we wanted that journey to begin right here at home.

We started with the talented young artists in the **Heavener High School Art Department**, who were invited to submit their own ideas for a new city seal. Their designs were presented to the City Council, and two submissions with similar themes were selected to serve as the **inspiration and foundation** for our new seal.

👏 Congratulations to **Sarahi Camargo and Annie Eggar**, whose artwork helped shape the direction of the final design! We are incredibly proud of both students and appreciate the creativity and thought they put into representing their hometown.

From there, we kept the project local. The City hired **Heavener alum Kayle Scott, owner of Legacy Media Partners**, to develop the students' concepts into a finished professional design. Kayle brought in another Heavener alum and talented local artist, **Emaline Wiles**, to collaborate on the project.

Together, they created **two official versions of our new City seal**. Both designs are part of the City's new identity and will be used interchangeably for different applications and purposes. Neither is a replacement for the other—they are two versions of the same hometown-inspired vision.

From the original artwork of our high school students to the talents of Heavener graduates and local professionals, this truly was a **hometown effort from beginning to end.** ❤️

We are extremely proud of the talent found right here in Heavener and grateful to **Sarahi, Annie, Kayle, and Emaline** for each playing an important and unique role in bringing our new City seal to life.

💧 VOLUNTARY BOIL ORDER LIFTED 💧

Good news! The voluntary boil order has been lifted for all affected City of Heavener water customers.

Water may now be used normally for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, and all other household uses. No further boiling is necessary.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation while our crews worked through the recent water issues. We appreciate our citizens! 💜

💧 WATER BREAK UPDATE 💧

Good news! Crews have isolated the main line break near Ave G and 2nd Street, and customers should not experience a water outage while repairs are being made.

Crews are continuing to work in the area, so please use caution and avoid the work zone if possible.

🚨 MAIN LINE WATER BREAK – WEST SIDE 🚨

We have a main water line break near Ave G and 2nd Street. Please avoid the area while crews are working.

💧 Water is expected to be shut off around 11:30 AM so repairs can be made. Customers on the west side may experience an outage or low water pressure during this time.

The extremely dry conditions have contributed to multiple water line breaks recently, and our crews are working hard to make repairs as quickly as possible.

We appreciate your patience and ask that you please bear with us as we work to get service restored. We will post an update when repairs are complete.

Water service is being restored, and customers should see **full water pressure return soon**.

💧 WATER BREAK – EAST SIDE 💧

We are currently working to repair a water break on the east side of Heavener.

👉 Customers who were affected by Saturday’s scheduled water shutoff are also affected by today’s water break.

⏱️ Crews estimate repairs will take approximately 2 hours to complete.

We appreciate your patience while our crews work to get water service restored as quickly as possible. We will provide updates if the repair takes longer than expected.
