⚾️ Opening Day excitement at Tito Huerta Park!
The Heber Public Utility District was proud to join the Little League Kick-Off Game alongside community leaders and families celebrating another great season of youth baseball.
HPUD Vice President and Little League President Delfino Matus, HPUD General Manager Madeline Dessert, Imperial County Board of Supervisors Vice Chairwoman Martha Cardenas-Singh, and IID Vice Chair JB Hamby were all in attendance to support our local athletes and community.
A special thank you to Dippy Duck for bringing smiles to the crowd and throwing out the ceremonial first pitch! 🦆⚾️

El Toro is proud to continue the Heber Community Student Scholarship Program for its 7th year, supporting local students as they pursue their educational goals. Since 2020, more than $36,000 in scholarships has been awarded to deserving Heber students!

On Friday, May 1, 2026, leadership from the Heber Public Utility District joined regional partners for an in-depth Colorado River tour hosted by the Imperial Irrigation District. Vice-President Delfino Matus and General Manager Madeline Dessert participated alongside representatives from the City of El Centro, City of Holtville, Seeley Water District, and Farm Bureau.
 
The tour began at IID Headquarters and included key stops at the Brock Reservoir, Bard Water District, Laguna Dam, Imperial Dam, Pilot K**b, hydropower facilities, and the East Highline Hydropower & Future Reservoir Site—highlighting the infrastructure that powers and sustains our region.
 
HPUD extends its sincere thanks to IID for an informative and productive tour that strengthens regional collaboration and our shared commitment to responsible water management along the Colorado River. ⚡️💧
 
 
El viernes 1 de mayo de 2026, líderes del Heber Public Utility District se unieron a socios regionales para un recorrido en profundidad por el río Colorado, organizado por el Imperial Irrigation District. El Vicepresidente Delfino Matus y la Gerente General Madeline Dessert participaron junto con representantes de la City of El Centro, la City of Holtville, Seeley Water District y el Farm Bureau.

Imperial County would like to clarify the latest updates regarding solid waste services:

❌ The Solid Waste Land Use Fee is NOT moving forward at this time
✅ The County IS moving forward with the Proposition 218 process for hauler (trash collection) services

We understand there has been confusion, here’s what you need to know:

• The Land Use Fee will not be implemented
• The hauler service program (trash, recycling, and organics) is moving forward

This program supports compliance with State requirements under SB 1383 and helps ensure consistent services for our community.
