🌧️ Rain on the mountain is an incredible sight. I really wish I had been able to capture more pics though. From the lake the top is blind. Driving through the clouds (which is how I described it to my kids) is so incredible. If you ever just want to experience something out of a story book check it out during dreary weather. Of course use extreme caution. Don’t go in a storm, use your fog lights and DRIVE SLOW!

This beautiful hike is located inside Cheaha State Park. Actually in all of the years we have lived here this was our first trek here. The entrance is located near Cabins 1-3, where parking is available. It is a relatively short hike with beautiful scenery at the end. We sat gazing for a long time. Unlike the BaldRock or Pulpit Rock hikes this offers a view of the actual mountain. It was GORGEOUS in the late fall. There is also a parallel trail that follows/crosses a small winding creek with tiny waterfalls, which we intensely explored with great excitement. Highly recommend!

❄️As cold temperatures impact Alabama this week, the state has increased potential for winter weather conditions. ⚠️A state of emergency is in effect for the State of Alabama as of 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025. ⚠️

🌎 God is present all around,

Fear not the secret, the unknown
