What a SPECIAL time to be a Bulldog! 🐾💜💛

For the first time since 2011, the Ranburne Lady Bulldogs are headed to the ELITE 8 and the AHSAA State Tournament at Choccolocco Park! After years of hard work, adversity, sacrifice, and belief, this team has earned its place among the best teams in Alabama Class 2A softball.

Under the helm of second-year head coach Cody Skinner and his staff, the Lady Bulldogs are building a culture centered around toughness, belief, accountability, and togetherness. In just two seasons, this program has now reached Back-to-Back Regional appearances earning a Sweet 16 in year 1 and has officially punched its ticket back to the Elite 8 for the first time in 15 years.

This season has become about so much more than wins and losses. It’s about a group of young ladies who refused to quit. A team that kept fighting through every challenge and continued believing in the “Mudita Mindset”.

To our players — thank you for representing our school, our town, and our tradition with toughness, heart, and pride. You have given this community something to rally around and something we will never forget.

To our parents, students, alumni, and fans — thank you for showing up, packing the stands, traveling the miles, and pouring your hearts into this program. Small towns live for moments like this, and this team has brought that excitement back to Ranburne.

The road ahead won’t be easy. The Elite 8 is where the best of the best compete. But this group has proven all year long that they are NEVER out of the fight.

✨We’re so excited about this news from CCMS✨

Cleburne County Middle School is proud to announce that the CCMS Volunteer Mentoring Program, led by school counselor Jennifer Swafford, has been recognized by Character.org as a National Promising Practice for 2026. Character.org, a leading advocate for character development across schools and communities worldwide, selected only 290 programs across the nation to receive this distinction.

The CCMS Volunteer Mentoring Program reflects the heart of CCMS and its mission of “Connecting People to Resources and Resources to People.” Through meaningful relationships with community volunteers, mentors, school staff, and student leaders, the program focuses on building character, encouragement, belonging, leadership, and positive decision-making for students in grades 5–7.

Under the leadership of Mrs. Swafford, the mentoring program has become an important part of the culture at CCMS by connecting students with caring adults who invest their time, encouragement, and life experiences into the next generation of Tigers. Community partnerships with local businesses, churches, civic leaders, law enforcement, former students, and volunteers continue to demonstrate what makes Cleburne County such a special place.

Character.org noted that this year’s recognized practices focused on fostering caring relationships, empowering student voice and leadership, inspiring service, promoting intrinsic character development, and strengthening family and community engagement — all values deeply embedded in the CCMS counseling program and mentoring initiatives.

“At CCMS, we believe relationships change lives,” said Jennifer Swafford. “When students know they are valued, supported, and encouraged by their school and community, amazing things happen. This recognition belongs to every mentor, volunteer, teacher, community partner, and student who helps make CCMS a place where people truly matter.”

The CCMS Volunteer Mentoring Program joins other nationally recognized CCMS initiatives that continue to highlight the school’s commitment to character education, student leadership, and community engagement.

Celebrating our future engineers and architects! 🇺🇸✨

Today, Cleburne County Middle School hosted an incredible America 250 STEAM Day dedicated to our talented girls! In honor of our nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary, these young innovators took a deep dive into American history through the lens of engineering and science.

Using Makedo STEM kits, our students collaborated to design and build large-scale cardboard structures of iconic American monuments. From the Statue of Liberty to the Washington Monument, the creativity and teamwork on display were truly inspiring! 🛠️📐

But the learning didn't stop at construction! The girls also stepped back into the colonial era to explore the science of food. A huge thank you to Ms. Dewberry for contributing to our butter making session. 🧈

Check out these photos of our brilliant CCMS builders and butter-makers at work! We are so proud of their hard work and the way they represent Cleburne County Schools.

🤍 Happy National School Nurse Day! 👩🏼‍⚕️🩺🩹

Today we celebrate the incredible nurses of Cleburne County Schools who care for our students each and every day. From bumps and bruises to managing chronic conditions, providing comfort, and supporting the overall well-being of our school communities - our nurses truly do it all.

Their compassion, dedication, and commitment make a difference far beyond the walls of the clinic. They are often the calm in the chaos, a listening ear, and a trusted advocate for our students and staff.

We are so grateful for the vital role they play in keeping our schools safe, healthy, and ready to learn.

Thank you for all that you do. You are appreciated more than words can say! ❤️
