On March 12th, one of Helena Firefighters IAFF Local 448’s own members were devastated by the loss of their home from a structure fire. Fortunately, everyone made it out and is safe. However, nearly everything was lost in the fire.

Firefighters from across Montana deployed overseas today including one of your own Helena Firefighters, Lieutenant John Gustafson.

“There is a level of selfless service in firefighting that goes hand in hand with serving in the National Guard,” said Gustafson.

Monday afternoon, a deployment ceremony for the Montana National Guard’s 1052nd Firefighting Detachment was held at Fort Harrison as they head to Europe for a year-long mission.

Helena’s 3rd fire station approved to be built on the North side of town on Kelleher Lane.

Helena’s third fire station will be at 1872 Kelleher Lane, and the city aims to complete it by April 2027, documents state.

The firefighters of Helena Firefighters AIFF Local 448 will be out collecting donations for Muscular Dystrophy tomorrow 8/21 from 4-630 pm at the intersection of Lamborn and 11th ave in Helena. we are proud to continue this tradition. We are not collecting money for the fire department during this event. Donations can also be made with the attached link.
