The 2026 Aviation Teacher Workshop applications are open for Montana STEM teachers in grades 6-12. Join the MDT Aeronautics Division and the Montana Learning Center for a hands-on aeronautical workshop 9/24 and 9/25. Applications close 9/14. 🚧Missoula - Orange Street Detour: NORTHBOUND traffic under the Orange Street Bridge is being detoured. SOUTHBOUND traffic is flowing. Detour is expected to be in place until early afternoon while BNSF repairs mesh that prevents debris from falling on the roadway. Please follow the signs if you are in the area. Check MDT 511 for current information: 511mt.net

🍂🦌 Deer have officially entered their fall "let’s cross the road at the worst possible moment" era. Don’t let your attention deer-part from the road.

Wildlife activity increases in the fall, especially around dawn and dusk. Slow down, scan roadsides and ditches, and if you spot one deer, assume its whole friend group may be nearby.

If a collision is unavoidable, don’t swerve! Brake firmly, keep both hands on the wheel, and stay in your lane.

⚠️Missoula – Night work is scheduled from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on September 2-3, and again on September 7-10, in the following areas:
- Broadway from Van Buren to Madison
- Brooks Street from Hellgate High School to Buckhouse Bridge
- US 93 from the Wye going north to the 6.3

MDT and Highway Specialties crews will apply epoxy markings to curbs, crosswalks, stop bars, and pavement symbols.

Please slow down, watch for workers and equipment, and expect possible delays. Check MDT 511 before you travel for current information: 511mt.net
