Reeder's Alley

Reeder's Alley Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Reeder’s Alley is the oldest intact piece of early Helena.

Managed by the Montana Heritage Commission which is attached to the Montana Department of Commerce. Nestled in the shadow of Mount Helena in Downtown Helena you will find Reeder's Alley. Built in the 1870's by Pennsylvania brick mason, Louis Reeder, Reeder's Alley stands today as a representation of Helena's rich history and gold rush legacy. Located at the east entrance of the Alley, visitors wil

l find the Caretaker's, Pioneer, and Yee Wau Cabins. The property is managed by the Montana Heritage Commission. Guided tours of the Pioneer Cabin are offered June - August.
