We're thrilled to announce a new partnership between Ability Montana and Simms in support of Camp Bullwheel! Camp Bullwheel is a haven for individuals living with disabilities, built on the belief that everyone deserves access to the restorative power of the outdoors. Through accessible recreation, fishing, and adventure, Camp Bullwheel proves that disabilities shouldn't prevent anyone from experiencing the beauty of Montana's natural world.

The Core Angling Group, a dedicated team within Simms, visited recently to volunteer alongside us. As summer progresses, more of their team will be joining us streamside at Camp Bullwheel to keep that mission alive. We're so glad to have Simms on the water with us!

Big news for Lindley Park in Bozeman 🌲

New accessible trails are coming this summer — hard-packed paths wide enough for two wheelchairs side by side, plus accessible vendor spaces at the farmers market and Sweet Pea Festival. Because everyone deserves to show up.

Celebrate at the 1st Annual Bozeman ADA Celebration on July 25th — it kicks off with a 5k Walk, Run & Roll, a ribbon-cutting for brand-new accessible trails, and a full day of vendors, food, and live music.

Read more on our blog (link in bio!).

45 years of empowering independence… and still going strong! Since 1981, Ability Montana has been helping Montanans with disabilities lead their own lives as a Center for Independent Living (long before the ADA became law!).

It’s 45 years of advocacy, support, and real impact. The work continues every day alongside individuals building lives rooted in choice, access, and independence.

A new kind of freedom on three wheels! Living just outside of Whitehall, Montana, even short trips used to take careful planning for Stephan, who relies on a walker for mobility. Wind, distance, and uneven terrain often made getting around unpredictable.

Now, with an electric trike, he can securely bring his walker along and travel with far more ease and consistency, whether it’s heading into town for groceries, grabbing coffee, or spending time in the community.

And, he’s already looking ahead. From attending the local farmers market as a vendor with his small business to planning longer rides to places like Boulder Hot Springs and beyond, transportation is no longer a barrier.

What happens when a disability perspective is in the room where leadership is shaped? Ingrid Hill, COO of Ability Montana, shares her experience with Leadership Montana in our new blog. She talks about stepping into spaces not always built with disability in mind, building connections, and bringing a perspective that challenges assumptions and expands what inclusive leadership can look like.

It’s a story about showing up, being heard, and helping shape a more thoughtful, representative future for communities across the state.
