Please join us Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 103 Oakview Lane, Fire Station number 2 at 2:00pm, as we celebrate the opening and blessing of Helena's Baby Box, and we couldn't be more excited to see this day finally arrive.

Knowing that our city will now have this resource available for mothers and families facing difficult circumstances means so much to the city. As the only Baby Box in the tri-county area, it will provide a safe, anonymous option and serve as a source of hope when it's needed most.

This is a great opportunity for our community to come together and support a resource that can truly make a difference in someone's life.

We would like to give a special thank you to Judge Erin Welborn for her support and for helping to bring this project to life. We would also like to give a special round of applause to Councilwoman Hamman for spearheading this initiative. We are so grateful for your partnership and commitment to making this happen for our community.

Thank you to everyone who has played a part in making this vision a reality. We hope you'll join us tomorrow as we celebrate this important addition to Helena.

Administrative offices for the City of Helena will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026, in observance of Juneteenth.
🚑 Emergency services will remain available 24/7 to serve our residents.

Congratulations to Officer Zachary Hill and Fire/Medic Eric McDanal on being recognized as Helena Police Officer of the Year and Helena Fireman of the Year by Pelham American Legion Post 555!

I'm happy to report that all main roadways are clear at this point and there were no reported injuries with the storm that rolled through this afternoon!

A huge thank you to Helena, Alabama Fire Department, Helena, Alabama Police Department, Helena Public Works, and the many citizens for the tremendous effort to clear the roadways and assist our community during and after the storm.

HFD and HPD responded to at least 21 calls between 3:09pm and 5:15pm of downed trees, power lines, and transformer fires. This is a testament to the quality of the First Responders and Public Works we are so blessed to have, as well as their leadership, which were working side by side to answer the calls and serve this community!

Next time you see them around the community be sure to tell them thank you!
