Saucon Choices for Change (Viv Demko, Jay Santos, Don Carpenter, and I) can now declare victory in the race for Saucon Valley school board!
Out of respect for voters, we were waiting until the paper ballots were scanned. We’ve retained commanding leads over our opponents, it turns out.
We want to thank our many supporters in Saucon Valley for voting for change. We had less campaign money than our opponents, but we had dozens of grassroots helpers—particularly, teachers—who made our campaign organized, creative, and smart.
It would be hard to overstate how hard so many people worked to bring our message of change to voters. Thank you all!
We also want to express our heartfelt gratitude to our formidable incumbent opponents Susan Baxter, Bryan Eichfeld, Mike Karabin, and retired Col. Shawn Welch for their dedicated public service to Saucon Valley school district and its school children.
Susan and Mike have given 30 years of service to the district without compensation while facing countless difficult challenges. Bryan has been a passionate advocate for conservatism, fiscal restraint, and language education, and Shawn shared a lifetime of experience in logistics with the district. While we may all differ in our visions for Saucon’s future and in policy ideas, we honor the incumbents' innumerable efforts to make our schools and community better, and we will work hard to build on their positive achievements.
Most of all, we want humbly to thank the citizens of Saucon who have entrusted us with the awesome duty of helping to govern their schools. It is great privilege and responsibility, and we will strive to honor your trust in us by providing superb public education in Saucon.
Respectfully,
Bill Broun, Donald Carpenter, Viv Demko, and Jay Santos
