SCHOOL TOUR AT THE HEMET DEPOT MUSEUM
Each year the Hemet Depot Museum hosts tours and historical demonstrations for area Third Graders.
Yesterday was a typical tour. Students saw and participated in washing and ironing clothes as it was done a hundred years ago, grinding corn as the Indians did, learned the importance of the horse in early Hemet, and saw how the station agent weighed outbound freight.
In addition, they saw up close dinosaur bones, Indian artifacts and scores of objects from Hemet’s social, educational, agricultural and commercial past.
This could not be done without the support of our Museum’s dedicated volunteers.

The Expeditions Of Juan Batista De Anza Through Riverside County
A post by Deanna LaCava on the Facebook History of Moreno Valley California group.
She comments:
Have you wondered about the story behind the signs in Moreno Valley marking the National Historic Trail of Juan Batista de Anza?
An eight-mile segment of the Anza Trail goes right through Moreno Valley.
This Sunday, May 17th, at 5:00 PM, the Moreno Valley Historical Society will be welcoming historian and author, Steve L**h, at the Edgemont Community Center to tell us about the Expeditions of Juan Batista De Anza through Riverside County.
This program is free. Historical Society membership is not required.
