Richland Township Police Department, Hemlock MI Richland Township Police Department has three full time Officers and two part- time officers. The Police Chief is Jack Doyle.

The other sworn full time Officers are: Officer Chris Goldman, Officer Larry Durocher and Officer Jacob Polzin whom is contracted as the Merrill Officer. Part time officers are Officer Brian Pitt and Officer John Meehleder. There are in excess of 100 years of police experience with the 6 sworn officers. The Department is dedicated to the safety and well being of the citizens of Richland Township.

Friday July 24th, a Bike Rally raising money for PTSD awareness will traveling on M46. Our Officers will be assisting them with traffic control at the lights in Hemlock and Merrill. We ask that every please be patient and respect with this short delay as we ensure the bikers are able to safely travel down M46. Thank you everyone for your patience.

While you are out touching grass, hugging trees, and enjoying our bits of nice weather between all these rain storms: you may stumble upon one of these! It may look concerning if you are unfamiliar, but in reality this is just one example of our Saginaw County Mosquito Abatement Commission at work!

These pieces of equipment have the goal of making nature safer and more enjoyable; however, I might keep a LITTLE distance considering they are meant to attract mosquitos into a trap.

ATTENTION: Avoid M46 and Raucholz Road, it is extremely slick and we have a Semi jack knifed across the road.

Update: the road is open and MDOT has cleared as much as they can, but the road is still pretty dangerous. Big shout out to Len Schmitzer, Michigan Department of Transportation, and Mikes Wrecker Service for their help!

Every once in awhile everyone gets that pesky random door to door salesmen that seem to pop up out of nowhere..

If by chance someone comes to your door trying to sell you random services or items-

Here are some safety tips:
1) Do not open the door if you do not know them.
2) If you are home alone-do not release this information to the seller.
3) If you are not home and have a ring camera or similar device advise the seller you have company and can't be bothered at the moment.
4) If possible speak to them through your door.
