Look what's new at the Six Mile VFD. A new sign for the fire station made by Robert Brown and Jimmy Everett and installed by Neo Blackerby and Jonathan Waldrep. This honor was voted on by the department and many from the Community. Thank you Lonnie for the many years of service to the Six Mile VFD.

The 4th of July Celebration is right around the corner at Six Mile VFD. July 4th falls on a Friday and we should have a lot of people with us that evening. Come and enjoy great food, great fellowship with friends and a wonderful display of fireworks at dusk. See you there.

Lonnie Johnston badge #406 joined the Six Mile VFD on January 8 2007. Member of the Sabine county Firefighters' association and served as President. A member of State Firemen and Fire Marshall's Association. Named as Firefighter of the Year by the VFW.
Come out Saturday from 11:00 am-2:00 pm at the Six Mile VFD for a time of fellowship, and meet and greet Lonnie on his retirement. You can come by, eat and wish Lonnie a happy retirement and then go and enjoy the rest of your Saturday. Food will be served. See you Saturday morning at 11:00 am.

On September 21st, 2024 Saturday, we, the people of Six Mile, Hemphill, and Fairmount will be honoring Chief Lonnie Johnston for his 18 years of service to the Six Mile VFD. Come on Saturday the 21st from 11:00 am--2:00 pm and enjoy some great food and chat with our retired Chief Lonnie. This will be a come and get a bite to eat and go enjoy the rest of your Saturday.
