🚨 SCAM ALERT – PLEASE BE AWARE!

The Sabine County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a phone scam involving individuals impersonating law enforcement officers.
If you receive a phone call from someone claiming to be with the Sabine County Sheriff’s Office, stating that you have an outstanding warrant and must pay money to avoid arrest, IT IS A SCAM!
We have already received one report in which the caller identified himself as “Sergeant Smith.” The Sabine County Sheriff’s Office does NOT have a Sergeant Smith.
Our office will NEVER demand payment over the phone to clear a warrant or prevent an arrest.
Do not provide personal information or send money. Hang up immediately!
If you receive a call of this nature or have any questions or concerns, please contact the Sabine County Sheriff’s Office at 409-787-2266.

🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

With heavy hearts, the San Augustine County Sheriff’s Office mourns the loss of Captain Mike Price, who passed away today, October 21, 2026, at his home.
Captain Price served and retired from the United States Air Force before dedicating himself to law enforcement. He was a true leader, a trusted friend, and an irreplaceable member of our team and community. His service and presence will be deeply missed by his fellow deputies, staff, and everyone who knew him.
We extend our deepest condolences to Captain Price’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

If anyone has any pictures of Captain Price they would like to share for his slideshow, please send directly to his wife Jessica Bryan-Price.

🎂HERE’S A LITTLE BIRTHDAY CHALLENGE!

October 28th is Sheriff George Griffith’s birthday, and this year, there’s something special he’d love for his birthday… APP DOWNLOADS! 📲🎉

Let’s see how many new downloads we can get during October! If you already have the app, encourage your friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers to download it too.

No wrapping paper required. No cake necessary. Just download the app!

The app is a great resource for food distribution announcements, but even more importantly, it helps us quickly share emergency alerts, severe weather information, road closures, public safety updates, and other important notifications.

Stay connected. Stay informed. Stay safe. 🎂And help us give Sheriff Griffith a great birthday month! 🎂
