Councilman Christopher Carini

Councilman Christopher Carini Represents Lido Beach, Point Lookout, Merrick, North Merrick, Freeport, Seaford and Wantagh

Christopher Carini was elected to represent the residents of the 5th Councilmanic District in November of 2019. Since being elected, he has helped to dramatically increase the number of roads that the town will repave, combat graffiti, stop overdevelopment, assisted small businesses during the pandemic and honored his campaign pledge to hold the line on taxes by passing a budget that froze the Tow

n’s portion of your property taxes. He will continue to be a voice against calls to “Defund our Police” that will adversely affect the safety of our neighborhood and he will proudly back our men and women in law enforcement. Chris Carini, a resident of Seaford since 2005 is extremely active in the local community. Councilman Carini is focused on ensuring an honest government that holds the line on taxes while investing in our roadways as well as improving the quality of life for residents. Chris Carini was a proud member of law enforcement, Chris retired in 2019 after serving twenty-two years as a Police Officer in the New York City Police Department, MTA Police Department and Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police Department. As an Executive Board member of the Port Authority Police Benevolent Association Inc., Carini represented 1,800 police officers, becoming an expert on labor relations, contract negotiations and the ability to represent the workforce. Councilman Carini served on the PBA’s Budget, Bylaw, Election and Legislative committees and was a Trustee on both the PBA’s Welfare Fund and Widow and Children’s Fund. As a member of the PBA’s legislative committee, he often went to Albany to advocate for the membership which has given him invaluable insight on the legislative process. Councilman Chris Carini has more than a decade of community involvement including serving as Vice President of the Wantagh-Seaford Homeowners’ Association (WSHA) and Director of the Wantagh-Seaford Homeowners’ Neighborhood Watch Committee. He created a monthly pothole list for the homeowner’s association and worked with various jurisdictions to have them fixed. In addition, he has also alerted the local municipalities about any needed park repairs, graffiti, litter and other quality of life issues. He also made sure neighbors were kept informed about zoning projects proposed for the area that might impact residents. In 2012, he was part of the WSHA’s Superstorm Sandy forum that provided hundreds of residents the opportunity to meet with agencies, including the federal government, state, county and town as well as support agencies that could assist them as they struggled in the aftermath of the storm. Chris proudly represents the 19th Legislative District as a member of Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder’s Community Council. He has developed relationships with the Nassau County Police Department that have enabled him to work directly with them on issues that impact the community. Chris is a regular at the Seaford Board of Education meetings and served on the District’s Security Guard Advisory as well as the District-Wide Safety Committee, using his expertise from his years in law enforcement to make schools safer for the children. Chris and his wife Danielle are the proud parents of two young children.

As a former Port Authority Police Officer assigned to many Presidential Details, I am knowledgeable of the detailed security planing that is involved in all Presidential movements. Site plans and coverage areas, include potential sniper vantage points, are thoroughly discussed well in advance. I have personally been posted on rooftops and stairwells leading to rooftops during these movements. I commend the bravery of the Secret Service agents on the ground jumping into action to save the former President. I am concerned as an American how a shooter was able to get a clear vantage point of President Trump. A full investigation of the security planning of this event must be conducted. No potential President or seated President should ever need to be concerned for their safety. American's deserve answers!

Political violence has no place in our society. President Trump is safe after an assassination attempt. Two attendee's were shot in this senseless act. Thankful for our law enforcement, their bravery was on full display as Secret Service rushed the stage. We must debate our ideas and visions in a peaceful way. Debates are decided with elections. That is the fabric of our democracy!

Thank you to the Secret Service, the bravery of law enforcement was on full display! As per the AP shooter is dead.

The Town of Hempstead Presents -The Jester Jim Show

“This is not your ordinary juggling show!” With a trunk full of props and a looping machine, Jester Jim takes the stage and starts his show. Young and old will be glued to his every sound as he performs his amazing beatbox intro. Kids and adults alike will be talking about Jester Jim's wild antics for weeks! Libraries, schools, and festivals can't seem to get enough of Jim and his plungers! www.jesterjim.com

Also Hempstead Town Clerk Kate Murray office will be on site for the Children's ID Program.

This program is extremely unique in that the Town Clerk's employees actually take the fingerprints and photographs of the children and both are memorialized in a "Kit" free of charge. It must be noted that there are no privacy concerns, as the completed kit is provided to the child's family and no record of the fingerprints/photographs are retained by the Town of Hempstead. This kit is valuable to law enforcement in cases of missing children.
