🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT - Sheffield Rd. and FM 1488

Roadway blocked at Sheffield Rd. and FM 1488 due to a motor vehicle accident. Please avoid the area and use alternate routes. Emergency personnel are on scene, and motorists should expect delays.

🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT 🚨

A sinkhole has developed on FM 529 westbound at the Brazos River on the Waller County side.

⚠️ Expect traffic delays and use caution in the area.

🚧 TXDOT crews are on scene, and Waller County Sheriff’s Office deputies are conducting traffic control.

Please slow down, follow directions from deputies, and consider an alternate route if possible. Updates will be provided as information becomes available.

The Waller County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind our community to stay vigilant against scams involving individuals who falsely claim to be law enforcement officers, court officials, or other county representatives.

Scammers often call claiming you have:
• Missed jury duty
• Have an outstanding warrant
• A felony warrant that must be addressed immediately

These callers may sound convincing and use real names of local officials, spoof phone numbers, or provide fake documents to create a sense of urgency.

Remember:
❌ You will NEVER be notified of a warrant over the phone.
❌ You will NEVER be asked to make a payment over the phone to avoid arrest.
❌ You will NEVER be instructed to send money through Bitcoin, gift cards, wire transfers, or payment apps.
❌ Never provide personal, banking, or financial information to unsolicited callers.

If you receive one of these calls:
✔ Hang up immediately.
✔ Do not send money.
✔ Do not provide personal information.
✔ Contact the Waller County Sheriff’s Office directly to verify any claims.

Scammers rely on fear and urgency. Take a moment to verify before you act.
