Wantagh’s Ryan Nicol earns a place among scouting’s elite! Ryan, a member of Troop 690, attained the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout, scouting’s highest honor which less than 5% of all scouts ever earn. Pleased to celebrate Ryan and his achievements at his court of honor, together with his family, troop, Hempstead Town Clerk Kate Murray, Senator Steve Rhoads, Legislator Kayla L. Knight, Assemblyman Dave McDonough’s representative Shannon Fredericks, and St. William the Abbot - Seaford Pastor Father Joe Fitzgerald. Congratulations Ryan!

Freeport Public Schools students at New Visions School showed their appreciation for Village of Freeport Police officers by making hand-made thank you cards as part of the Town of Hempstead’s Cards for Cops program. Enjoyed meeting some of the student artists when I stopped by the school to pick up the cards. Really nice seeing how excited they were to do something nice for the officers who do so much for Freeport. Great job by the students!

Congratulations to the girl scouts from Seaford and Wantagh who were recognized at the Seaford/Wantagh Girl Scouts award ceremony! Each of these young leaders organized and completed extensive community service projects to receive their gold, silver, or bronze awards. Whether it was by combatting food insecurity, promoting inclusivity, protecting the environment, or other very worthy causes, they are making a difference at a young age. Pleased to join their troop leaders and families in celebrating their achievements, together with Hempstead Town Clerk Kate Murray, Legislator Kayla L. Knight, and Senator Steve Rhoads’ representative Shannon Fredericks. Keep up the great work girls! Girl Scouts of Nassau County
