The Seaford Manor Deli is officially open! Celebrated the deli’s ribbon cutting with owners Joe and Andrew and their families, Hempstead Town Supervisor John Ferretti, Legislator Kayla L. Knight, Assemblyman Dave McDonough’s representative Shannon Fredericks, and the Seaford Chamber Of Commerce. Bellmore Fire Department’s Fire Prevention Day featured live demonstrations, interactive experiences, and touch-a-truck opportunities for kids. The department did a great job helping families learn about fire safety while having fun together. Another example of the department’s volunteers serving the Bellmore community. Visited Birch Elementary School in Merrick with Hempstead Town Clerk Kate Murray to thank students for participating in the Town of Hempstead’s Cards for Firefighters program. Students created special thank you cards, which will be given to the Merrick Fire Department, to show their gratitude for everything the department does for the Merrick community. Next Wednesday, October 28th at the Seaford American Legion Post 1132, you can learn how to save a life using Narcan through the Town of Hempstead’s free Narcan training program. After completing the training, participants will receive a free Narcan kit to keep in their homes. Contact my office at 516-812-3285 for additional information.

Wantagh Union Free School District students at Wantagh Elementary School and Forest Lake Elementary School created special tokens of gratitude for members of the Wantagh Fire Department; hand-made notes as part of the Town of Hempstead’s Cards for Firefighters program. Visited the schools to thank the students and pick up the cards. Very nice show of appreciation for our volunteer firefighters!

Cohosting a free Citizens Preparedness Training Program with Senator Steve Rhoads and Legislator Michael J. Giangregorio in Merrick on October 29 at 6:30 pm. Come learn how to keep your family safe during severe weather and other disasters. You’ll also receive a free emergency preparedness kit. Training will be led by the New York National Guard.
