This morning, our members spent several hours placing into service 30 BRAND NEW MSA G1 SCBA air packs and 20 additional face masks, which were delivered this morning through our Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) award!

We were also able to utilize budgeted department funds to purchase and place new Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) packs into service!

These new air packs are a MUCH-NEEDED UPGRADE, replacing our 17-year-old units! This investment will greatly improve firefighter safety, reliability, and our ability to protect the communities we proudly serve.

None of this would have been possible without the AFG grant award! We are extremely grateful for this funding, which allows volunteer fire departments like ours to obtain critical, life-saving equipment.

A huge THANK YOU to Fire Department Service & Supply for helping make this transition go so smoothly, from the purchasing process to getting our new equipment into service!

We also want to thank our dedicated members who gave up several hours of their Saturday morning to help get everything ready!

Our firefighters deserve the best equipment possible, and today marks another major step forward for our department!

Henderson City-County Airport opened its ramp to the public Saturday for Henderson Aviation Day, a free event that returned after a several-year hiatus.

We would like to extend a special THANK YOU to Director Herron for the invitation and for allowing our department to be part of such a great community event!

We hope everyone enjoyed getting an up-close look at our fire trucks and seeing our large American flag display flying proudly over the event! 🚒🇺🇸

Henderson Aviation Day is TOMORROW! Here’s what to know before you go✈️

🗓 Saturday, Oct. 17, 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
📍 Henderson City-County Airport, 2154 Hwy 136 West
🚗 Parking is free. From KY 136, turn onto Amiet Rd and follow the event parking signs to the west ramp. Coming from Henderson, drive past the main airport entrance and turn left onto Amiet. A shuttle will take you from the parking area to the event.
♿ Accessible parking is in the main airport lot. Use the main entrance at 2154 Hwy 136 W and park by the terminal.
🎟 Admission is free. Tickets for scenic flights over Henderson with Don Davis Aviation are sold on site.
🍕 Lunch on the ramp: Chicho’s, Whatchugot, Pizza Revolution and Coffee & Cream.
🚁 On display and on hand: Air Evac Lifeteam 46, a Huey, vintage aircraft, Civil Air Patrol – Owensboro Composite Squadron 223, Corydon Civil Defense Fire & Rescue, Evansville Regional Airport, Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport and the Henderson County Public Library.
🐾 Please leave pets at home. Service animals are welcome.
🌦 Rain or shine. We’ll only call it off for severe weather. The forecast shows a chilly KY autumn morning so bundle up and meet us on the ramp.
