Weather conditions will be favorable for wildfire growth.

* TIMING: Until 7 PM Sunday evening.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY: Afternoon minimums will range from 30 to 45
percent.

* WIND: South winds near 10 to 20 mph sustained with higher gusts.

* FUELS: Critically Dry.

These conditions will support the spread of wildfires. Outdoor
burning and activities that involve open sparks or flames are
discouraged. Please report all wildfires to local law enforcement
as soon as possible.

At no time does the department hold any meeting, take any vote, or authorized any individual to speak on behalf of the department or issue a blanket statement endorsing any political candidate or
race.

As a tax-exempt organization, we are committed to remaining nonpartisan and do not engage in political endorsements. This is not only our stand to support all members of our county but also in order to maintain compliance with regulations governing our status.

Each member retains the right to support and vote for candidates based on their own personal beliefs and opinions.

We appreciate the community’s support and understanding as we remain focused on our mission of serving and protecting the public.

🚨 Elevated Wildfire Threat – From Rusk County Emergency Services 🚨

Windy and dry conditions today have created an elevated wildfire risk across the entire county.

With sustained winds around 15 mph, gusts up to 20–25 mph, and relative humidity between 20–25%, any fire that starts can spread rapidly and become dangerous in a matter of minutes.

🔥 All Rusk County Fire Departments strongly discourages any outdoor burning or activities involving open flames or sparks today.

Please help us protect our community, property, and our volunteers by being mindful of these conditions. One small spark can quickly turn into a major emergency.

Yes the roads are starting to thaw NO they are not safe to travel. We have pulled 5 vehicles out today all ready that slide off the road. Don’t be the reason an ambulance or fire truck or power crew can’t get where they need to go. We love you all and hope you are warm and safe but we really hope not to have to see you today.
