Traffic Alert: Speed Limit Change on US 60 and Barrett.

You may have noticed a change near the intersection of US 60 and Barrett Blvd. This is to improve safety and stay ahead of our growing Community. The speed limit has been lowered from 45 mph to 35 mph.

Safety is our top priority. This specific area as well as others has become a high-incident spot for accidents. As many of you know, the landscape has changed around this area significantly since the original speed limits were set.

Chief Bolin stated "When that speed limit was made, there wasn't a whole shopping center, there wasn't a new neighborhood back behind it. The area has changed a lot and it needs to be more consistent with the speed of what the rest of Green Street is."

We understand that habits take time to change! To help everyone adjust, our officers will be focusing on education first, issuing warnings only for a set period to give you time to get used to the new 35 mph zone.

We know slowing down can be an inconvenience, but preventing accidents and keeping our neighbors safe is worth the extra few seconds on your commute.

Thanks for helping us keep Henderson Safe!

This morning, officers with the Henderson Police Department had the privilege of spending time with the wonderful residents and staff at Redbanks Regency during our “Coffee with a Cop” gathering. ☕💙

Events like these remind us that community policing is about more than responding to calls. It’s about building relationships, sharing stories, listening, laughing, and simply being present with one another.

We are grateful for the warm welcome, meaningful conversations, and smiles shared throughout the morning. Our senior residents are an important part of the Henderson community, and it was truly an honor to connect with them over coffee and fellowship.

Thank you to Redbanks Regency for hosting us and helping create such a special morning. We look forward to many more opportunities to strengthen the bonds that make Henderson such a caring and connected community.

A massive thank you to German American Bank for "depositing" several boxes of donuts at the department today for National Law Enforcement week!

Our officers have already launched an intensive investigation into exactly how many donuts fit in one squad car. Early findings suggest that "one more" is always the correct answer.

In all seriousness, we truly appreciate the support. It's the community here in Henderson that makes this job so rewarding (though the sugar rush definitely helps).
