UPDATE: GREAT NEWS-THE CHILD HAS BEEN LOCATED AND IS SAFE!!! Looks like there was a misunderstanding and the child was with his father. Father was notified and has returned to the home to help clear everything up.

A 3-year-old white male named Jordan has run off from a backyard in the area of the 200-block North Adams Street. He will be wearing a diaper only, blond hair blue eyes. Officers are in the area looking for the child. Please keep an eye open and be careful when driving around the area. If you locate him, please contact HPD!!!! Please view your cameras to see if you might see a young child walking around. We are being told he took off around 9am

Today, the Henderson Police Department bids a happy and well-deserved retirement to Sergeant Ramsey after 20 years of faithful service to our community. Sergeant Ramsey's commitment to keeping Henderson safe and his steady guidance as a supervisor will be missed. Below is the heartfelt message he shared with the officers and staff who remain on the front lines carrying the torch forward:

As I prepare to retire, I find myself reflecting on a career that has meant more to me than I could ever put into words. Wearing this badge has been one of the greatest honors of my life. It has given me purpose, lifelong friendships, unforgettable experiences, and the privilege of serving people when they needed someone the most.

There were long days, difficult calls, moments of frustration, and times when the job tested every bit of strength we had. But through it all, I never lost sight of why I chose this profession. I loved this job. I loved the people I worked with, the camaraderie and a sense of purpose.

To my fellow officers, thank you. Thank you for having my back, for the laughs during the tough days, for standing beside me during the difficult ones, and for the memories I will carry with me for the rest of my life. There is a bond in law enforcement that is difficult to explain to anyone who has not lived it. I will always be proud to have been part of this family.

To the younger officers just beginning your careers: There will be days when the job is difficult and days when you question whether it is worth it. Stay true to your values. Treat people with dignity, even when they don't make it easy. Keep learning. Keep your integrity. Look out for your partners, because one day you may be the person they depend on — and they may be the person you depend on.

Don't measure your career only by arrests, reports, calls, or accomplishments. Measure it by the people you helped, the lives you touched, the partners you supported, and the difference you made when nobody was watching.

Take care of yourselves and take care of each other. The badge may eventually come off, but the memories, friendships, and pride in having served never leave you.

As I walk away from this career, I do so with a full heart and an incredible amount of gratitude. I am proud of what we have accomplished, proud of the people I have had the privilege to work beside, and proud to have worn the badge.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of this family. It has been an honor, a privilege, and one of the greatest chapters of my life.

🚔 HAPPY RETIREMENT, SERGEANT ERIC RAMSEY! 🚔

Today, after 20 years of dedicated service, Sergeant Eric Ramsey is officially retiring from the Henderson Police Department.

Since being sworn in by Mayor Henry Lackey on September 11, 2006, and graduating from the Department of Criminal Justice Training (DOCJT) in May 2007, Sergeant Ramsey has served our community with unwavering honor and commitment.

Throughout his distinguished 20-year career, Sergeant Ramsey wore many hats:
🔹 Started on 3rd Shift before transitioning to 2nd Shift

🔹 Moved to the Investigations Division in January 2011

🔹 Served roughly 6 years in Narcotics and as part of the Kentucky State Police Drug Task Force

🔹 Sworn in as a Special Deputy US Marshal in 2017, serving on the Western KY Regional Fugitive Task Force until his retirement

🔹 Appointed as Acting Sergeant over Investigations in 2020, promoted to Sergeant in 2021, and served as Acting Lieutenant of Investigations in 2026

🔹 Tactical & Specialized Teams: Served 4 years on the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and as a key member of the Boat Team

Beyond his tactical and investigative work, Sergeant Ramsey has always had a heart for the Henderson community, actively participating in events like the 911 Gives Hope Toy Drive and Cops and Kids (Shop with a Cop).

Please join us in thanking Sergeant Eric Ramsey for 20 incredible years of sacrifice, leadership, and protection. We wish him all the very best in his well-deserved retirement! 💙🦅

We found this cute boy in the middle of Water St near 7th. He has a rabies tag with a vet in Princeton, IN. If you recognize him please let us know.

Please help us welcome our newly graduated officers from DOCJT. For the last 20 weeks they have been training with DOCJT in Madisonville academy. They will now begin their training with a seasoned officer for the next 15 weeks before hitting the streets on their own.

Matthew Utley is from Henderson Kentucky. In 2025 he married his wife and has now decided to follow his dreams of becoming a Police Officer. His goal is to move into forensic investigations. He appreciates his family who supports him and for the training he has received.

Stephen Graham is from Caldwell/Crittenden County. For the last 2.5 years he has worked in the factory business. He is engaged and set to be married next year. He joined the police department to give back to the community he loves. In the academy Officer Graham received the top marksmanship honor given by DOCT to the graduating basic training recruit who achieves the highest score and best overall performance on the academy's shooting range.

Randall Carroll is from Evansville Indiana. Prior to policing he served in the Marines for 7 years then worked at the Henderson County Detention Center. Officer Carroll has been married since 2017 and has two children. While at the academy Officer Carroll was given top honor which is given by DOCJT to the basic training academy graduate who displays exceptional academic, professional, and leadership performance during their 800 plus hours of instruction.

July 2026 Monthly Activity Report:
We are excited to share our monthly activity report, and we hope to make this a regular update for our community.

Our officers, detectives, and dispatchers work hard around the clock every day to keep Henderson safe and connected.

Some highlights are the stolen property recovery, with officers recovering over $83,700 in stolen property last month alone (a 92.6% recovery rate), bringing our YTD total to nearly $225,000 returned to owners.

Year to date traffic collisions across the city are down 21.4%.

Henderson Police had over 2,500 calls for service answered out of over 5,000 911 center total calls and 620+ traffic stops conducted in July to keep neighborhoods safe.

Congratulations to Officer Miller for his Governor's Occupant Protection Enforcement Award he was presented yesterday. Each year hundreds of unrestrained motorists lose their lives on our roadways. Officer Miller works to reduce some of these fatalities through extraordinary effort to increase seat belt and child restraint usage. The reward was based off enforcement action involving seat belt, child safety seat, and booster seat violations.

We would like to congratulate Officer Miller and all of the other officers who received this award in an effort to make our roadways safer.
