🚨🌊Last week, four members from Watkins Fire Department joined alongside personnel from several other agencies across Vance County to complete six days of Surface Water and Swift Water Rescue training at Fayetteville Technical Community College’s indoor rescue training facility.

This type of specialized training is critical to strengthening our county’s emergency response capabilities. From flood events and storm-related incidents to vehicle accidents involving waterways, these skills help ensure our responders are prepared to operate safely and effectively when seconds matter most.

We are proud of our members for continuing to dedicate their time to advanced training opportunities that not only strengthen Watkins, but also improve the overall rescue capabilities of Vance County as a whole. The partnerships and teamwork built during trainings like this are invaluable and directly benefit the citizens we all serve.

A huge thank you to Fayetteville Tech for hosting this outstanding program and to all participating agencies for their commitment to continuing education, collaboration, and public safety.
