Today, we pause and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of our nation.

Today we remember David Thompson — a man who dedicated his life to serving the people of Upshur County with honor, humility, and a servant’s heart.

No matter the situation, David was always there to help whenever the community needed him. Day or night, rain or shine, he answered the call without hesitation.

He served selflessly, never asking for recognition, only wanting to help others and do what was right. His presence brought comfort during difficult moments, and his dedication left an impact that will never be forgotten.

Men like David are rare. The kind who quietly give so much of themselves to others simply because they care deeply about their community. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the people he helped along the way.

Please keep the Thompson family, his law enforcement family, and all who knew and loved him in your thoughts and prayers as we remember a truly good man. Rest easy, Constable Thompson. Your watch here may be over, but your impact never will be forgotten.
