🌀 Hurricane Season Starts June 1st — Are You Ready?

May is the perfect time to prepare your disaster readiness kit before hurricane season arrives. Epsom Fire Department encourages every family to have enough supplies to safely last at least **3 days without power.**

Helpful preparedness tips:
✅ Store your emergency supplies in a tote or waterproof container for quick access
✅ If you plan on using a generator, add a **carbon monoxide detector** to your kit
✅ Keep jackets and clothing ready for all weather conditions
✅ Charge phones and backup battery packs before storms arrive
✅ Keep important documents protected in waterproof bags or containers
✅ Know your evacuation routes and emergency plans

A little preparation now can make a big difference later. Stay informed, stay prepared, and stay safe this hurricane season. 🚒

The sky’s may be gloomy but our spirits are bright✨ this morning. Your Epsom volunteers along with help from our part time staff have successfully completed hose testing on the trucks this morning. This helps ensure that we are ready whenever duty calls.

We’re proud to recognize members of Epsom Fire Department (Assistant chief Jarrett Seaman and Captain Noah Doran), Watkins Fire Department, and Vance County Fire Department for successfully completing a week-long Surface & Swift Water Rescue course in Fayetteville.

This specialized training strengthens our ability to respond to water-related emergencies and enhances interdepartmental cooperation, ensuring we can work seamlessly together when it matters most. Most importantly, it equips our rescuers with the skills needed to better protect and serve our community.

Please join us in congratulating these dedicated individuals for their commitment to training, teamwork, and public safety. 🚒🌊
