We need your help finding an amazing person to join our Elementary School team! We are looking for someone patient, compassionate, and energetic who is passionate about helping students grow socially, emotionally, and behaviorally.

Key Position Details:

🐾 Hours: Part-time, 20 hours per week (supporting students in our No Shortcuts room)
🐾 Pay: $15–$20/hour (depending on degree level)

🌟 An incredible summer for five members of the Pride of 2029!

This summer, Morgan Williams, Andres Lima, Sariyah JJ Gant, Aniah Ash Peppers, and Kyzer Prophet spent five weeks living and learning at Middlesex School in Massachusetts as part of Middlesex Squared, a free, three-summer STEM-based college access program.

After a rigorous selection process, our students earned 5 of just 6 spots available across North Carolina! 🎉

While there, they experienced dorm life, rigorous STEM, writing, and college prep courses, extracurricular activities, college visits, and a new community of peers from across the country.

And this is only the beginning! Over the next two summers, they’ll return to continue growing academically, building confidence and relationships, and preparing for college and beyond.

We couldn’t be prouder of these five students for saying YES to something new, challenging, and far from home—and representing our Pride along the way! 💙💛

🇪🇨 **ECUADOR COMES TO HENDERSON COLLEGIATE!** 🇪🇨

Our Spanish II scholars brought language and culture to LIFE this week! They had the absolute privilege of hosting a very special guest straight from Ecuador, who gave our students an unforgettable look into daily life, traditions, and culture in South America.

Our Pride came ready with incredible questions, but the real highlight? An authentic taste test that brought the whole lesson together! 🍌🧀 Maduros con Queso: Warm, sweet fried plantains paired with rich cheese—a total crowd-pleaser! 🥤 Tropical Fruit Juices: Pouring up fresh, vibrant flavors of guava, mango, piña (pineapple), and durazno (peach).

Nothing beats real-world connections and authentic cultural immersion in the classroom. Huge shoutout to our guest for sharing his home, stories, and delicious food with ! 💙🦁

Saturdays are for leveling up! 🚀

Our very first Watch Us Rise Saturday Academy at was a success! 30 dedicated scholars from the Prides of 2031 and 2032 traded their Saturday morning for math mastery, proving that going the extra mile can actually be fun.

Huge shoutout to our incredible teachers, relentless scholars, and supportive families for setting such a strong tone for the year. Together, we are shaping bright futures! 🎓

What an incredible day for our Pride at NC State! 🚀✨

Our students got to meet NASA astronaut Christina Koch, who is preparing to orbit the Moon on the Artemis II mission. As an NC native and proud NC State alum—where she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering and Physics—Christina is living proof of what’s possible right here from our home state.

At HC, our mission is to show students that their potential has zero limits. Seeing a local hero who walked those exact campus halls go on to make space history gives our scholars a real-world roadmap to dream big and aim high.

Huge thanks to NC State and Christina Koch for igniting so much excitement today! 💫
